Giuliana Soscia & Pino Jodice Quartet

Giuliana Soscia is a very versatile artiste. She graduated in 1988 in pianoforte with full marks at the "S.Cecilia" Conservatory of Music of Rome, under A.M.Martinelli and Maestro S. Cafaro. She won numerous piano competitions and immediately began to perform in concerts. At the same time she began studying accordion and jazz. From 1995 to 1999 she studied and deeply researched the ethnomusicology of the Italian folk tradition, gradually moving on to more complex types of music such as the tango, and completing her journey of investigation through the means of jazz contamination. In 2001 she was awarded the "Sonerfisa" trophy, the International Award of the city of Castelfidardo for the best Italian accordionist and in 2007 the Lifetime Achievement Award of Castelfidardo

Tagliata Massimo

Massimo Tagliata Accordion player, piano player, arranger Massimo Tagliata, born in Siracusa in 1973, begun his musical career very early as performer and composer. When he was 13teen he took the exam for composer, transcriber and songwriter at the SIAE. When he was 15teen he begun to indepth the language of Argentina’s tango working with the bandoneon player Marco Fabbri. Iin 1994 he won the first prize in the International competition “City of Castelfidardo”, category “Contemporary Music”. Then his interest in jazz and latin music grew up and dveloped. Since 1998, Massimo Tagliata had important collaboration with musicians like Teo Ciavarella, Felice Del Gaudio and the group Banda Favela, whit whom he realized an important tour all over the greatest jazz clubs in Europe and in Japan (Blue Note in Tokio). At the same time he continued the career of tango with the project Trio Lumiere, having gigs not only in Italy, but also in Europe and in Exra-Europe countrys. Thanks to his musiacal versatility, he works with the best musicians in Italy in different kind of music, jazz, tango, italian music, pop, brasil music and forrò. In 2006 built the group“Marea” with the guitar palayer Andrea Dessì il gruppo; in 2006 and 2007 the group Marea palyed in the most important jazz festival in Italy, like Delta Jazz Festival, Veneto Jazz Festival, Festival Soul and String , Dolomiti’s Festival. In 2007 the group Marea recorded his firs cd, Deserto Rosso, with the saxophon player Xavier Girotto, from Agrenina.. Since 2008, Massimo Tagliata works with the accordion player Frank Marocco, with whom does concerts, recordings and workshops. In 2008 came out the cd “Cammino Dritto”, made by Marea and Frank Marocco, that contains original compositions, jazz standards and sound-tracks of famous films. In 2009 Massimo Tagliata collaborated in the cd “Changes” , that will come out soon under the name of Frank Marocco. In the big number of Massimo Tagliata’s recordings we recall the most recents: The CD ““L’Amore è cieco”, recorded with Teo Ciavarella at piano and with the collaboration of Fabio Grandi, Flavio Piscopo and Massimo De Stephanis. The CD “Stranezza d’amuri” (2004) and “Donna Rita” (2006) for the italian singer Rita Botto, with Antonio Marangolo, Alfio Antico, Teo Ciavarella and Felice Del Gaudio The CD “Swingology” (2005), french swing, with Pier Giorgio Farina and Giampiero Martirani The singol song “Sognami” (2007) for Biagio Antonacci, recorded with Martirani Gipsy Swing; the song Sognami remained for 16 weeks in the first position of the italian top ten and receved the prize “Città di Castelfidardo” for the accordeon. The CD “Deserto Rosso” (2007), with the gorup Marea, promoted by Veneto Jazz and distribued by Philology, with the part of the sax player Javier Girotto, not only as executor but also as composer The CD “Cofferatzingher” (2007), with Magritte Quartet. The CD “Fiore notturno” (2008), with the gorup Marea, produced by Veneto Jazz. The CD “Lumière du tango” (2008), with Trio Lumiere.

Luciano Biondini

Born in Spoleto in 1971, Luciano Biondini started studying the accordion seriously at age 10. He has been awarded many prizes for classical accordion, e.g. Trophée Mondial de l'Accordéon and Premio Internazionale di Castelfidardo. Since his turning to jazz in 1994 Biondini has played with the likes of Rabih Abou-Khalil, Dave Bargeron, Michel Godard, Battista Lena, Gabriele Mirabassi, Enrico Rava, Tony Scott and many others. A true master of his instrument and a soloist with an overwhelming dramaticism, he always adds something beautiful and original to any context he works in. His duet partner Javier Girotto was born in 1965 in Argentina (of Italian ancestors) where he studied Argentinian and Italian music in his early years

Big band leader, singer and accordionist Gregorio Uribe was born in Colombia, studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and is now based in New York where he leads Gregorio Uribe Big Band: a 16-piece orchestra that blends cumbia and other Colombian rhythms with big band arranging. The band has held a monthly residency at Zinc Bar for four years and has performed at The Kennedy Center, Iridium Jazz Club and Celebrate Brooklyn Festival among others.
