Proudly citing his inspirations John Coltrane, Joshua Redman, and Keith Jarrett, Avanesov admits to meticulously studying our vast jazz heritage and it's far reaching echoes influence the nine muscular originals that comprise Secret Language . Fleet and fearless, double bassist Boris Kozlov and drummer Samuel Sarkisyan provide their ever evolving leader with a tensile, yet shifting palette, at once enveloping and freeing Avaneso's reflective meditations ("14," "Yoomi") and bloder explorations, the brooding, intense, title excursion and the ranging "Short Memory."
