Claudio Giglio Quartet: Scenes in the Night
Per raccontarci la sua notte, il sassofonista di Siracusa sceglie un meccanismo quasi cinematografico. Un album che pare strutturato come una serie di quadri sonori, scene notturne, colonna musicale di un film che (poteva essere altrimenti?) immaginiamo noir.
Notte come luogo del mistero, zona franca in cui tutto può succedere, spazio in cui ogni storia diventa credibile. C'è la metropoli con le sue luci, la pioggia, squarci romantici precari per definizione (nel noir, le donne sono sempre misteriose), un'atmosfera malinconica diffusa.
La quinta traccia, "China Blue" (palese riferimento cinematografico), segna lo spartiacque. La tensione si stempera, il mistero si assottiglia, si fanno largo le prime luci dell'alba.
Un nuovo giorno è in arrivo. Tutto diventa più chiaro e lineare. Ma meno intrigante.
