Alessandro Fabbri: Pianocorde

Cantabilità delle melodie e grande attenzione nel bilanciare momenti di tensione e situazioni più distese. Sono questi gli elementi sui quali Alessandro Fabbri ha costruito il suo Pianocorde, un disco ad alto contenuto emozionale che unisce i connotati del classico trio jazz batteria-pianoforte-contrabbasso alle movenze di un ensemble d'archi, nello specifico gli ottimi Archaea Strings.

L'idea del batterista/compositore si compie grazie all'apporto decisivo del pianista Massimiliano Calderai, al quale è spesso assegnata la parte di figura principale, e si snoda attraverso delle linee di condotta capaci di passare con destrezza da situazioni vagamente nostalgiche ("Il tango riflesso"), ad altre più guizzanti ("Pianocorde"), fino a toccare le profonde emozioni di un brano come "For Those I Never Knew," firmato Luca Flores e arrangiato da Fabbri in maniera tutt'altro che scontata. In materia di rivisitazioni non è da meno il lavoro svolto sull'ellingtoniana "Caravan," che racchiude un ipnotico solo del leader all'udu drum, mentre i brani autografi - sei dei dieci in programma - denunciano una buona varietà di soluzioni, compreso un passaggio only strings: la fascinosa "Cinemascope".

Scrittura di grande coesione e una parte imprescindibile di fantasiosa imprevedibilità fanno di Pianocorde un album equilibrato, compatto, che può mettere d'accordo sia gli amanti del jazz in senso stretto, che gli estimatori di un classicismo più convenzionale.
