Pascal Le Boeuf: Pascal’s Triangle
L'architettura globale ed il mood di riferimento paiono un po' scontati nel richiamarsi alle esperienze discografiche di Bad Plus e Robert Glasper. A scanso di equivoci, va subito detto che si tratta di un jazz acustico molto ben suonato ma un po' statico, privo di grande inventiva.
Come ben testimonia la traccia numero quattro, al trio si addice una scansione ritmica più frastagliata dai colori metropolitani per un moderno piano trio. "The key" è l'altro episodio più significativo di un progetto ancora alla ricerca di una piena maturità espressiva. È questa la strada più consona per il trio, per volare su una più libera interazione dialogica lungo strade più spigolose e tortuose.
