Inger Marie Gundersen: Make This Moment
Dopo un’esperienza come singer in big band o in più semplici formazioni nella città natale di Arendal, la cantante ha voluto spiccare il volo con un CD in cui rilegge classici jazz (“Nature Boy”, “Blame it on My Youth”), si affaccia sul patrimonio beatlesiano (“Fool on the Hill”) e sul cantautorato americano più raffinato (“Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” - Carole King - e “Song for You Away” - James Taylor).
Ci sono pure due song originali (la title track e “Melancholy Blue”). Accompagnata da un quintetto di buoni musicisti, Marie Gundersen dimostra di aver studiato il canto femminile non solo nel jazz, ma anche nel rock (Tapestry di Carole King e Blue di Joni Mitchell sembrano essere la sua tesi di laurea in canto).
Non avrà lo charme delle più patinate e più fortunate colleghe (Norah Jones e dintorni), ma la grazia e la sensibilità con cui si avvicina a quel repertorio non è di secondaria importanza.
