Lisbeth Quartet: Grow

Leader di questo Lisbeth Quartet è la ventunenne Charlotte Greve, allieva di Dick Oatts e Loren Stillman. La musica proposta ricalca tutto l'entusiasmo ed il vigore della giovane formazione, ma difetta di originalità. È un gruppo già molto coeso e promettente, che data la giovane età dei componenti non possiede lo spessore dei grandi musicisti per una proposta originale. A parziale discolpa del quartetto, l'essersi cimentati con una formula che difficilmente sfugge ad inevitabili confronti di stile e prassi strumentale.

Una formazione che pur nello sforzo creativo di allestire un repertorio proprio di composizioni, riprende la classicità del mainstream come centro motore del progetto. Non si discutono l'abilità esecutiva ed il bel timbro strumentale del leader, che esibisce un suono caldo ed avvolgente. Buon senso ritmico ed altrettanto dicasi per l'abilità strumentale del quartetto. Mancano invece i sussulti in un disco di apprezzabile fattura, pervaso dal desiderio di un placido confronto con la tradizione.
