Aki Takase La Planète: Flying Soul

La sessantaseienne pianista di Osaka firma con questo Flying Soul uno dei suoi lavori più alti e densi di significato, composizioni tutte sue (tranne "Twelve Tone Tales" del marito Alex von Schlippenbach) interpretate da un quartetto dalle geometrie e dai cromatismi assolutamente particolari.

Ovunque affiora il retaggio "anfibio" dei quattro performer, che pur praticando da sempre l'improvvisazione di più o meno diretta emanazione jazzistica, conservano in parallelo un nitido imprinting classico, oltre a un'eloquente memoria folklorica, nello specifico avvertibile esplicitamente in "Moon Cake."

A prevalere è un clima palpabilmente cameristico, che peraltro non manca di affiancare a un dato aplomb, quasi fisiologico, frequenti accensioni, con il ricorso a un gusto per l'antigrazioso a volte come prosciugato, quintessenziato, ma spesso più fitto, contorto, a tratti quasi febbrile (tipo nei brevi "Turtle Mirror" e "Reading").

I vari episodi—o parti di essi—alternano il quartetto compatto al concretarsi più o meno spontaneo di sue sottosezioni, soli (pianistici e non) e duetti in primis, il tutto su durate per lo più contenute (tre brani si attestano comunque sui nove minuti), fino al sospeso, quasi destrutturato epilogo, il paradigmatico—verrebbe da dire—"Piece for La Planète," che si fa via via persino estenuato, evaporato, come a voler trasferire in puro soffio l'esaurirsi di un itinerario creativo che ha già avuto modo di manifestare ampiamente la propria eccezionalità.
