Susanna Lindeborg: Excursions
Mentre il lavoro col gruppo raccoglie stimoli diversi, spaziando da varie forme jazzistiche fino alla fusion, qui è l'avanguardia e la dimensione elettro-acustica a farla da padrone. Pur operando nell'ambito della libera improvvisazione (ma qualche brano sembra scritto dal principio alla fine) la musica del disco si snoda con un rigore ed un controllo formale da rasentare la musica accademica. Altra caratteristica del lavoro della Lindeborg è l'utilizzo (anch'esso molto controllato) di backgrounds elettronici, creando fondali appropriati che vanno a interagire con le asimmetriche geometrie ritmico-melodiche e i cluster dissonanti.
In Excursions si ascolta una musica in cui troviamo libertà e complessità e, pur non essendo particolarmente nuova (la cupa drammaticità dei suoi bassi ricorda Andrew Hill) evidenzia profondità espressiva e inventiva.
