Leonardo Grimaudo: Deserto di mare
“U Giru Vagu“ è brano d’atmosfera, con suoni ovattati, un tempo da ballad anomala che possiede l’ipnotismo di una cantilena mediterranea. È la cura dei cromatismi che colpisce, con un gustoso gioco di chiaroscuro che determina la cifra stilistica dell’esecuzione.
“Altalena“ è brioso, danzante, con un appetitoso dialogo tra il robusto tenore e il guizzante soprano che contribuisce ad alimentare un ritmo finale incalzante. “Le strane sensazioni“ si adagia su atmosfere rarefatte nelle quali si aprono macchie di colore improvvise. E via di questo passo.
Quello che si può rimproverare a Deserto di mare è una certa uniformità e ripetitività di atmosfere e approcci esecutivi. Lunga preparazione, ritmo spesso ipnotico sul quale si innestano una serie di variazioni più spesso timbriche che dinamiche. Resta comunque un disco godibile e piuttosto insolito.
