Basta dare un'occhiata ai musicisti coinvolti ed ai titoli in scaletta per avere una chiara idea della musica contenuta in questo album. Il genere non è di quelli che prediligo. Ma quando è suonato in questo modo, da autentiche colonne della storia del jazz, da musicisti che hanno fatto questa musica, che l'hanno davvero vissuta e non ce la ripropongono in modo posticcio... beh, confesso che con mio stesso stupore mi ritrovo a muovere il piedino, coinvolto ed emozionato.

Un tuffo negli anni d'oro del jazz, con alcuni brani che ancora oggi mostrano una freschezza sconvolgente ("Bag's Groove" o "It Don't Mean a Thing").

Nostalgico.
