Belmondo & Milton Nascimento: Belmondo & Milton Nascimento

Il rapporto tra Milton Nascimento e il jazz è sempre vissuto sulle coordinate di una fascinazione reciproca, come stanno a testimoniare le passate collaborazioni del cantautore brasiliano con diversi jazzisti di valore, da Wayne Shorter a Herbie Hancock, passando per Pat Metheny: non è difficile comprendere come le canzoni di Nascimento, il cui stile personalissimo attinge da molte influenze, ben si presti a venire plasmato dalla sensibilità di strumentisti sulla stessa lunghezza d'onda.

Accade anche in questo nuovo disco realizzato assieme ai fratelli francesi Belmondo, Stéphane alla tromba e Lionel alle ance - ma nella band troviamo anche nomi di spessore del jazz transalpino come Eric Legnini e André Ceccarelli - rileggendo alcune pagine dello splendido canzoniere del musicista del Minas Gerais, a partire proprio da quella "Ponta De Areia" che Shorter aveva incluso in Native Dancer.

Non mancano "classici" dalla bellezza davvero senza tempo come "Travessia" o "Cançao Do Sal", come "Milagre Dos Peixes" o "Morro Velho" [brano molto amato anche da Elis Regina così come "Nada Serà Como Antes"], arrangiati con grande gusto e con una vivacità che accentua la carica sensuale della musica di Nascimento, ridonandole la grande carica di libertà e di trasversalità che da sempre lo distinguono nel pantheon degli artisti brasiliani degli ultimi quarant'anni.

Ottimo.
