Luca Santini - Alessandro Fedrigo - Carlo Alberto Canevali: Ball-Gag
Le tracce sono improvvisate, le atmosfere molto sperimentali, il perno su cui ruota il disco è il lavoro sul suono, realizzato attraverso preparazione degli strumenti, elaborazione elettronica, tecniche "sporche" e quant'altro potesse essere messo al servizio dell'espressività e della creatività.
Il risultato sono tre quarti d'ora di musica per niente intellettualistica e assai godibile, che si affaccia - sempre per brevi sprazzi - su numerosi generi diversi, passando da momenti rumoristici, ad altri lirici, fino a lampi d jazz elettrico.
Tutti più che apprezzabili i protagonisti, anche se una menzione particolare va a Santini, capace di squadernare un gran numero di stilemi, cambiando molto gli scenari al mutar di strumento - come mostrano esemplarmente i primi due brani, "Growingballadine" - intensamente dinamica alla cornetta - e "Simplety" - lirico-etnica al sax soprano.
Un lavoro consigliabile a tutti coloro che temono la radicalità che fa rima con inascoltabilità: qui tutto suona invece limpido e gustoso.
