This is a welcome reissue; the swan song of a very proud swan. Red Garland’s long series of trio recordings began in 1956, when he was still in the Miles Davis Quintet. He stayed with Prestige until 1962, appearing on more than 30 albums (including much of John Coltranes’s work for the label.)
