Recorded during the pandemic, Sometimes I Love You is Billie Eidson's debut full-length album, introducing the intimate, trio-based aesthetic that continues to define her sound. The album features jazz luminaries Tom Grant on piano and vocals, Phil Baker — an upright bassist and veteran of Pink Martini since 2003 — on bass, and Ron Steen on drums.

The album almost happened on someone else's timeline. Eidson had been advised to wait before recording. Ron Steen disagreed. "You are ready now," he told her — and that vote of confidence from one of the region's most respected drummers became the push that led to Sometimes I Love You.

The collection draws from the heart of the Great American Songbook, moving through "Ain't Misbehavin'", "I'm Old Fashioned", "Bewitched", "Lover Man" ,"A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square" ,"If I Were a Bell," "The Look of Love" ,"Sometimes I'm Happy", and "I Love Being Here with You" — a set that established Eidson's refined phrasing and transparent vocal tone.

Steen has since said of Eidson's voice: "Billie's voice has an atmospheric quality of charm and haunting beauty."
