Con questa uscita l’etichetta leccese Dodicilune fornisce ulteriore consistenza alla componente più prettamente jazzistica del proprio catalogo, riunendo un affiatato gruppo di giovani musicisti pugliesi supportati per l’occasione da Yuri Goloubev, tra i contrabbassisti più quotati e richiesti del momento.
Il suono è coeso e limpido, l’interplay è assicurato, l’aspetto melodico sempre importante, gli interventi solistici sono apprezzabili, tutto fila liscio come l’olio. Forse troppo liscio... Solo il contralto di Partipilo sembra voler dare qualche scossone, qualche spinta in avanti allo sviluppo musicale del gruppo...
Chi cerca un jazz avventuroso, ricco di salti mortali e di voli senza rete dovrà rivolgersi altrove, chi ama un jazz raffinato, elegante, rispettoso, conciliante, troverà in Way Out il disco ideale.
