Gianni Cellamare & Taranto 4tet: ‘U popole mije
Grazie anche alle caratteristiche peculiari della voce di Cellamare, profonda e dai toni ancestrali, che contrasta con quelli elettrici, blues e funky degli strumenti, ne scaturisce un album singolare, dai contorni inusuali.
Contribuiscono alla suggestione i testi - tutti di Cellamare, come le musiche - in equilibrio tra ironia, poesia e impegno, che riscattano una musica gradevole ma senza particolari originalità.
Concludono il lavoro due tracce particolarissime e "storiche" in cui si ascolta il mitico Enzo Del Re, vero cantastorie e protagonista della canzone politica degli anni Sessanta e Settanta, quando si esibiva nelle feste politiche e popolari, ma anche in teatro (ha lavorato tra gli altri con Dario Fo). Del Re è scomparso nel giugno del 2011 e questo è uno degli ultimi suoi documenti registrati. Si tratta di due dei suoi brani più celebri ("Lavorare con lentezza" è stato ripreso tra gli altri da Daniele Sepe e ha dato titolo a un film), eseguiti con i due "strumenti" che era solito utilizzare: il "linguofono" (ossia schiocchi di lingua) e... una sedia. Spettacolare.
