Per il suo album d'esordio Rino De Patre ha scelto la forma espressiva più delicata: la prova in solo. Un confronto che può riservare molte insidie, come l'essere troppo vicino a realtà già esistenti.

In The Dawn from My Heart il chitarrista abruzzese - anche servendosi di sovraincisioni - si è disimpegnato in maniera egregia, proprio perché forte di un suono personale, dove si possono rintracciare influenze e radici, ma dove ad emergere con preponderanza è un modo lontano da cliché e standardizzazioni di facciata.

Nove composizioni originali - più l'interpretazione di "Largo" (Händel) - pensate e messe a punto nell'arco di un anno, ispirate dall'alba che De Patre vede dalla sua finestra di casa, quella che sorge dietro il massiccio del Gran Sasso, il gigante che dorme. Brani che racchiudono sentimenti, sogni ed emozioni, che De Patre traduce in musica servendosi di un tocco sapiente ("Sunday of May"), di una buona capacità di sviluppare temi evocativi ("The Dawn of My Heart") e di grande cantabilità ("Remembrances").

L'album per essere apprezzato richiude più di un passaggio, tante sono le sfumature, le intuizioni e le smussature che al primo impatto potrebbero passare inosservate, proprio perché discrete e preziose come chi le ha create.
