All those great musicians and singers use to open wide my ears and my soul to a music that I always felt very close. Ethel Ennis

Born: November 28, 1932

Baltimore native Ethel Ennis is a national treasure. Critics have hailed her as "the most accomplished singer performing today." That stature was earned by her magnificent voice, her brilliant compositions, her joyful performances and her collaboration with the finest musicians. Ethel Ennis first won national recognition for her recording "Lullaby for Losers" in 1955. In 1958, she was selected by Benny Goodman as the female vocalist for his all-star band. Later, she was chosen as a featured singer on the Arthur Godfrey Show. After performing at the 1964 Newport Jazz Festival with Billy Taylor, Cozy Cole, and Slam Stewart, she appeared with Duke Ellington and his Orchestra on television's "Bell Telephone Hour." She followed those amazing achievements by wowing them at the Monterey Jazz Festival in duets with Joe Williams

With a multicultural background and 20 years of live and studio experience, I am at home in any professional musical setting. Born: June 1, 1955

Nicols began training as a classical pianist at the age of seven and continued for five years. Then she stopped studying until at nineteen, during her junior year of college in Florence, Italy, she was lucky enough to have been mentored by master pianist and teacher, Vanda Scaravelli. Two years later she moved to Tokyo, immersing herself into the art, music and traditional culture of Japan's rich heritage. There she began sitting in with jazz musicians as a vocalist at the "Shinjiku-Inn" and the "Pitt Inn". Inspired and ready to work, she returned to America and settled in New Orleans. Here, Adele began studying with then Columbia Recording Artist, Ellis Marsalis, and soon got her first regular piano gig at the French Quarter's famous Fairmont Hotel. Sara Serpa

Born: March 27, 1979

As a native of Lisbon, Portugal, and currently living in New York, vocalist and composer Sara Serpa has lived around music all her life. While in her teens she attended the Conservatory of Music in Lisbon, studying piano and singing, setting the basis of her musical vocabulary. When facing the challenge of choosing a career, Serpa entered a Psychology College, graduating in Social Work. Her musical desires remained alive during this period and soon she encountered jazz at Hot Clube Jazz School in Lisbon. Serpa’s aspirations of seeking more knowledge and challenges eventually brought her to Boston where she attended Berklee College of Music and later the New England Conservatory, where she received her Masters in Jazz Performance in 2008. Among her teachers were a very celebrated cast of luminaries such as Danilo Perez, Ran Blake, Dominique Eade, Theo Bleckmann, Hal Crook and Jerry Bergonzi.

Deanna Reuben, concert vocalist and recording artist, has become one of the finest interpreters of the Great American Songbook working today. To date, she has recorded four albums, the latest being a lively jazz holiday recording entitled Christmas Is Here, released in 2013. A member of The Recording Academy, Deanna was the sole producer of this album, which also features some of Philadelphia’s finest jazz musicians to compliment her impeccable vocals.
