Lu Colombo

Lu began singing with her mother teaching her. As a teen-ager she attended some amateur contests as guitarist and singer with the folk band Plastic Doves. In the 70s she worked for the advertising world and the theatre and met David Riondino, with whom she worked for many years. In 1980 she recorded Maracaibo, a ballad about love and adventure, to which she added a dance flavour, to make it appealing for the 80s people. The arrangements were by Mario Saroglia for Music production. Lu brought the tape in a disco, and it was an immediate success. Simon Atkinson

As a Jazz Vocalist for over 25 years, Simon Atkinson has drawn inspiration from the music of the great Crooners, Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme ,Nat King Cole and more recently Harry Connick Jnr. He has performed his own interpretations of the classic standards over that time in a wide variety of countries and venues. With the dramatic resurgence of the genre Simon has found that interest and demand for his relaxed cool style of Jazz and Swing vocal has increased steadily over the past years. Following a 7 year period performing overseas, In 2003 Simon returned to the UK and found new success in with individual performances throughout Britain and in France , but most significantly with the superb Veteran Jazz pianist and arranger Allan Baillie and his band The Ben Marcato Trio. Allan has performed for over 4 decades with an enormous range of the very best Scottish Jazz musicians as he developed and performed with his 12 piece jazz orchestra in the 1980's and his legendary Al Baillie Trio in the 1990's

Pushing Air is a San Francisco-based live-looping music project blending high-diva vocals, jazz-based improvisation, beatboxing and extended vocal technique. Conservatory-trained and bebop-schooled vocalist Diana Thompson writes and performs all parts, all voice, all live, melding jazz, blues, minimalist classical, and African musics into "avant world bop." Martha Cinader

Born: December 13, 1962

Martha Cinader graduated with honors from The Spence School in New York City in 1980. Fascinated by Jazz and the underground music scene in New York City, she worked as a fashion model and spent a lot of time listening to live music. Her first published piece of writing was an interview with the jazz musician Monty Waters, that was published in The East Villager. She traveled with her partner around Europe for six years, on what could barely be called a circuit of expatriate jazz musicians. Leaving from Munich she returned to New York City with a three year old daughter in 1990. She was a producer and on-air host for most of the nineties at WBAI Radio 99.5FM where she produced a weekly arts magazine, and also wrote and produced twelve episodes of Marvelina, a science fiction radio drama, and four episodes of Mission of Love, later produced as a two act play written in iambic pentameter at Club Vinyl
