Nabuko Kiryu

Nabuko Kiryu started singing jazz in 1990 in Japan after graduating from Shobi Junior College of Music with a degree in composition. But her musical career began much earlier. As the daughter of Toshiko Kiryu, a classically trained pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall, she learned an appreciation for music early. However, her stepfather Kanji Ohta, a jazz pianist, was the one who inspired her movement toward jazz. __ She completed her B.A. in jazz vocal performance from City College of New York in 2001 and also graduated her M.A. at Queens College in 2004. Ella Gahnt

The Elegant Ella Gahnt, Jazz vocalist and arranger, has been performing professionally since the age of 18 and is finally living her dream by performing the songs she loves. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she has studied piano, voice, guitar, saxophone, and music theory at Granoff and Settlement Music schools, and PCPA - now University of The Arts, and continues private instruction with her husband Leon Mitchell - composer, arranger, vocal coach, and musical director of The Philadelphia Legends of Jazz Orchestra.

Ella has worked as vocalist and music copyist on recordings with many popular artists like Grover Washington, Jr., The Stylistics, and Pieces of a Dream. Ella has performed as jazz vocalist throughout the East Coast with jazz groups led by Sam Reed, Roger Prieto, Tony Williams, Sam Dockery, Butch Ballard, Gerald Smith, and her own E.G. Trio/Quartet. Ella has performed at the PECO Energy & Afro-American Museum’s "Jazz 'til Sunrise" Festival, and a concert entitled "Just Us" along with vocalist Pearl Williams at the Painted Bride in Philadelphia, PA. Ella and her trio performed a memorable concert in the Perelman Theatre of the famed Kimmel Center during their Summer Solstice Celebration. In March 2005, Ella was named “Jazz Ambassador” by the School District of Philadelphia along with her husband Leon Mitchell.

Andrew Suvalsky

Born: February 19, 1969

Andrew Suvalsky's recently released jazz-pop CD, "Vintage Pop and the Jazz Sides”, is about love as seen, tasted and experienced from all sides. The recording interprets and artfully meshes the line between two musical worlds�"jazz standards and classic pop songs. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Andrew began his musical career as part of the Jackie Allen Jazz Improvisational Group in Chicago at the Old Town School of Music. Soon after he was regularly performing with the Old Town Jazz Finesse at the historic Fairmont Hotel and Chicago’s Up and Coming Jazz Review at Magnum Supper Club

Abigail Riccards

Born: December 19, 1980

Since arriving on the New York scene in 2003, vocalist Abigail Riccards has garnered much attention from the jazz community for her effortless swing, heartbreaking tone, and personalized approach to lyrics. Abigail's inimitable approach to the Great American Songbook has made her one of the most celebrated jazz vocalists of her generation. In 2000, she was also selected to participate in the Jazz in July workshop at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and competed in the 2006 Fish Middleton Competition, where she was a semi-finalist. In 2004, Abigail was selected to be a semi-finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, where she competed at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C for judges such as Kurt Elling, Al Jarreau, Jimmy Scott and Dee Dee Bridgewater

Kate McGarry

Singer Kate McGarry grew up in Hyannis, Mass., as one of 10 children in a musical family that spent many nights singing together. At the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, she earned a degree in African-American music and jazz; she began developing her organic vocal style through early training in jazz performance with iconic saxophonist Archie Shepp, and her experiences studying at a meditation ashram and exploring Celtic, Brazilian and Indian music also contributed to her widescreen vision as a vocalist and composer. After years in Los Angeles, McGarry moved to New York in the late ‘90s; her independently produced sophomore album, Show Me, was picked up by Palmetto Records, making her the first vocalist on the label’s roster

Zita Foster is a talented and versatile singer whose repertoire ranges from jazz/pop standards and show tunes to opera arias and Hungarian folk songs. Zita sings from the heart and infuses each song with a subtle dramatic reading. Her voice is pure, yet expressive, and her interpretations are unique and colorful. Audiences are easily mesmerized by her graceful, unpretentious stage presence.
