Sana Nagano

Ever since she moved in New York City (2010), violinist and composer Sana Nagano has been performing actively in NY jazz, classical and underground music scenes. Her latest collaborations include with Karl Berger, Adam Rudolph, William Parker, Daniel Carter, the Manhattan Symphonie, Nioka Workman, John Ehlis, Federico Ughi, Harvey Valdes, Marius Duboule, Brittany Anjou, Jeffrey Shurdut and others. Nagano holds MA degree from Aaron Copland School of Music of Queens College, BA degree from Berklee College of Music, both in jazz performance/composition major.

Maciej Afanasjew

Maciej Afanasjew – violinist and composer Maciej has graduated from The Academy of Music in Katowice (jazz violin class and composition and arrangement class). He was studying at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Graz. Maciej is a Ph. D. student at The Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in a class of prof. Paweł Radziński. He cooperated with such musicians as Erick Allen, Susan and Martin Weinert, Krzysztof Herdzin, Cezary Paciorek, Piotr Biskupski, Maciej Sikała, Piotr Baron, Janusz Skowron, Karol Szymanowski, Joachim Mencel, Grzegorz Nadolny, Jerzy Główczewski, Uli Rennert czy Matúš Jakabčic to name a few

Glenn Basham

Glenn Basham has a Bachelor of Music degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts and a Master of Music degree from Indiana University. He has been a member of the artist faculty at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami since 1992. He also serves as the first violinist in the Bergonzi String Quartet, which is the quartet-in-residence at the Frost School of Music. Glenn, a native of Washington, D.C., previously played with the Detroit Symphony under Antal Doráti and was a member of the Chester String Quartet. He has served as concertmaster at music festivals nationwide, including the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming, the Colorado Music Festival, the Hot Springs Music Festival and the Pine Mountain Music Festival

Nora Germain

1/4 Catalan, 3/4 American violinist Nora Francesca Germain is an author, jazz musician, and recording artist. She was the first ever violinist to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies from University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where she attended with a full scholarship. She was also the first to formally study jazz violin at the renowned Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where she was given the "Inspirational Jazz Student" Award at age 17 by Marshall Hawkins, former bassist for Miles Davis and Shirley Horn. Now often called an old soul, bright star or loyal friend, Nora has worked alongside an impressive range of top performers from around the world and continues to delight her fans with her vision, commitment to her craft and wit. She has since earned the nickname “Jazz Violin Barbie.”

Alison Blunt

Blunt creates and performs new work utilising or consisting of improvisation. Born in Mombasa, Kenya, grew up in Nairobi and subsequently in the Lake District, UK. Finding her way from a classical violin training at Birmingham Conservatoire and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Blunt’s fascination with sound, motion and space has led her into national and international projects exploring the boundaries between art forms and genres and creating, performing and recording new music. Blunt’s activities range from composing for film, visual arts, theatre and contemporary dance productions to touring solo musical storytelling performances, from performances with interdisciplinary ensembles to arranging and recording children’s albums, from gigging with rock bands to gigging with world folk music artists, from writing about new music to performing and recording new music

Yoojin Park

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Yoojin Park is a New York City-based violinist and composer. Growing up in a musical family and under the influence of a pianist mother, Yoojin began piano lessons at the age of 3 and began playing violin at 4. Soon after, Yoojin was recognized as being an outstanding musical prodigy, winning the Hankook Ilbo Competition at the age of 7. In high school, Yoojin served as concertmaster at the Kaywon High School of Arts, as well as performing as a soloist at the Seoul Arts Center. In 2006, Yoojin graduated from Korea National University of Arts, one of the most prestigious universities in South Korea, with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Violin Performance under the tutelage of the professor Nam-Yun Kim, one of the most celebrated violinists in South Korea. Having a tremendous passion for classical music, Yoojin was also deeply intrigued by the world of jazz and improvisation

Peter Ugrin is classical violist and jazz violinist. He is a Viola professor at the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory. His students receive awards at the national and many other competitions. Peter plays Viola in various chamber ensembles of classical music (Guud Quartet, String Quartet, String Quintet). On Conservatory where Peter holds position he regulary performs on chamber music concerts of Slovenian contemporary artists and music from famous classical and romantic repertoire. He also gives seminars and masterclasses for viola and jazz improvisation in Slovenia and abroad
