Kevin Woods

Trumpeter Kevin Woods began his musical interests at an early age. His father, who played trumpet in a local big band, gave Woods a cornet at age five and introduced him to the music of such jazz greats as Louis Armstrong, Harry James and Benny Goodman. Throughout junior high and high school Woods received many honors and awards from several jazz and classical music festivals and competitions and in 1997 was invited to perform in the Spokane All City and the All Northwest Jazz Ensembles. Tom Davis
With music degrees from Ithaca College and The Eastman School of Music, Tom Davis has been an educator for 22 years at the high school level. He has studied trumpet with Herb Mueller and Vincent DiMartino and has studied jazz improvisation and/or composition with Bill Dobbins, Rayburn Wright, Ramon Ricker, John LaBarbera, Steve Brown, Samuel Adler, Robert Morris, and Dana Wilson. In addition to performing with a local jazz quintet, “Exit 41”, Tom has performed with Tom Harrell, Bill Dobbins, and Slam Stewart and has composed for the New Orleans Brass Quintet, Jim Pugh, Sir Roland Hanna, and Wynton Marsalis. Scott Anderson was born in Kansas City MO and raised in Chapel Hill N.C. finally settling in Chicago Illinois and has been a resident there for the last seven years. He has settled in and made Chicago his homebase. Working professionally in a thriving music scene. He had his teachings in his early teachings in his high school years, from musicians such as Freddie Redd, Charles Mingus's pianist and a Blue Note recording artist in the sixties. He also had plenty of help from both teacher and friend Joseph Procopio, a saxophone player from N.Y. who has toured with the likes of Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, the Temptations and countless others. Scott moved on to college attending the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and later to Indiana University School of Music ( Bloomington IN ) which led to many performance opportunities with the greats and wonderful connections in his field

Marek Skwarczynski

Marek Skwarczynski - Trumpeter, composer and leader. He began to play the trumpet at the age of twelve and continued his education at the both Academies of Music in Krakow and Katowice, Poland. In 1996 he received scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he received an "Albert A. Natale" Award in recognition of outstanding musical achievement in Professional Performance. He also participated at "Henry Mancini Institute" in Long Beach, CA. Fred Jacobs

Fred Jacobs is a jazz trumpet player, arranger and composer, who has toured all over with some great jazz legends, including Lionel Hampton, Eddie Palmieri, Jimmy McGriff and Buddy Rich. His debut CD, TIME CHANGE, featured Dave Kikoski - piano, Rufus Reid - bass, Bill Stewart - drums, Scott Kreitzer - sax, et al. It charted #22 with The Gavin Report and was an R&R 60% jazz breaker. His latest work in progress, Jacobs' Ladder, is due out soon. Fred's musical approach: "I always want to swing, sound good, be different and creative, and show a spirit that stirs something in people... When you're improvising, some play licks, and some try to be more creative, more adventurous, and compose on the spot."

Jean Caze

Winner of the 2006 International Trumpet Guild Jazz Competition, and the 2004 National Trumpet Jazz Competition, Jean Caze has emerged as one of today’s most exciting new voices in jazz. Though only twenty-four, Jean has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Najee, Arturo Sandoval , John Fadis, Randy Brecker, and Bob Mintzer, to name a few. Jean also played with the legendary rock group “Chicago” live on NBC, and has opened for the Wynton Marsalis Quartet. Most recently, the Haitian-born trumpeter opened for tenor saxophonist Jimmy Heath and Roy Hargrove at Lincoln Center in for Jazzmobile's 40th Anniversary celebration. Jean began playing the trumpet at age nine and says, "It took three days to get any sound at all out of it"

Kenny Rittenhouse

Kenny Rittenhouse received a Bachelor’s Degree in music from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1988 and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Maryland in 2006. He also did graduate work on trumpet and in jazz at the Eastman School of Music, and at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he studied with Roger Sherman of the Pittsburgh Symphony. Since 1990 Mr. Rittenhouse has been a member of The United States Army Band (Pershing’s Own) in Washington, DC., the premier band of the Army, and currently performs with The U.S. Army Blues Jazz Ensemble. As member of the Army Blues, he has shared the stage alongside Ernie Andrews, Kevin Mahogany, Lou Rawls, Wycliff Gordon, Doc Severinsen, Arturo Sandoval, and Sean Jones. As a member of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, he has toured nationally and internationally with jazz flutist Hubert Laws and vocalist Kurt Elling

Scott Forrey

Scott Forrey has played trumpet with jazz, funk, Latin, and avant-garde bands for more that 25 years. He was both a student and faculty member at Berklee college of Music in the 1980s, where he studied improvisation with saxophonist George Garzone and bassist Miroslav Vitous. Among his interests are composition, arranging, and scoring film, digital recording technology, and collaborating with poets and other artists. In 1999 Scott contributed to the score of the independent British feature film MOTION, directed by Tom Clay. Vector Trio represents the culmination of years of exploration into live improvisation, musical experimentation, and electronics.

Vector Trio began life in 1996 simply as Vector, an improvisational avant-garde funk septet.
