Joshua Trinidad

Internationally renowned trumpeter, Joshua Trinidad was born and raised in the United States (Denver, Colorado). His recorded music can be heard globally with artists such as Sage Francis, Lee Konitz, Nathaniel Ratliffe, and soundtrack music for Ken Burns's documentary, "Vietnam". Joshua also composed a soundtrack to the photography of New York photographer Chris Buck, that include iconic photos of Bjork, Robert Kennedy Jr and Harry Dean Staton. I am a trumpet player/composer from the greater New Haven, Conn. area. I was strongly attracted to the sound of the trumpet at an early age and began trumpet lessons at the age of 16. I was first influenced by traditional jazz players such as Louis Armstrong and Bobby Hackett, and started sitting in with local Dixieland bands at about 19yrs. old. Later on, after a U.S. Navy tour of duty, and being introduced to more modern (Bebop) jazz, I returned home and began sitting in at jam sessions at local jazz clubs and meeting local jazz musicians including Michael Gregory and Dicky Myers. At this time my interests and influences were changing to more strait ahead type jazz

Steffen Kuehn

Born: April 16, 1965

Trumpeter/composer Steffen Kuehn has become a mainstay of the Bay Area jazz and Latin music scenes since arriving from his native Germany in 1997. He won a 2014 Grammy for Best Tropical Latin Album for the self-titled debut by the 20-piece Pacific Mambo Orchestra, which he co-leads with pianist Christian Tumalan. An alternately robust and warmly lyrical soloist and an on-point horn-section player, he works regularly with bands led by Latin drummer Brian Andres and timbalero Louie Romero and with jazz drummer Tommy Igoe’s Groove Conspiracy. And he has performed and recorded as a leader, releasing three albums on his Stefrecords imprint: Now or Later (2002), with fellow trumpeter Tim Hagans; trumpop (2008); and Constantine (2011). Peter Protschka

Born: June 10, 1977

Peter Protschka, born in 1977, is a German jazz trumpet player actually based in Cologne who is currently working and recording a lot on the European scene. He studied at the Hochschulen für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim and Cologne and was awarded with the renowned Jazzaward of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart in 2004. He worked with Don Menza, Maria Schneider, Alex Sipiagin, Kenny Wheeler among many others.In February 2008 he released his debut album with a band of consummate european jazz musicians entitled "Point of view" featuring his own compositions. Josh Evans

Josh Evans, born and raised in Hartford, CT, was drawn to the trumpet after hearing a Roy Eldridge and Dizzy Gillespie recording at the age of 10. Josh began studying with Raymond ‘Dr. Rackle’ Williams and within a year he began performing regularly with Dr. Rackle’s Sound Griot Brass Band. By the age of 14 Evans’ musical career began to take shape when he started to study with and be mentored by the celebrated alto saxophonist/composer, and educator Jackie McLean. Studying under McLean who shared the bandstand with Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and Art Blakey, would be pivotal in Josh's career

Kris McKenzie

Kris McKenzie has been actively involved in music as a performer, arranger, or composer since the age of eight. Born and educated in Indiana, she has written music for the concert stage, independent film, theatre, and local television programs. Her composition teachers include Dr. Michael Schelle at Butler University. As a performer, McKenzie has played in a variety of bands, including traditional wind ensembles, swing bands, ska and rock groups, and chamber orchestras. She has toured the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe and East Asia. Her repertoire includes works by Hummel, Clarke, Holst, Copland, Grainger, Vaughn Williams, Giannini, and others

The Osian Roberts/Steve Fishwick Quintet

Steve Fishwick, his brother Matt, and Osian Roberts have been friends since 1994, when they met on the jazz course at The Royal Academy Of Music in London. Since then, the three have worked and rehearsed together on a regular basis in their own groups, as well as in the ranks of other bands (Mike Carr's Blue Note Quartet; The Matt Wates Sextet etc.). In 2001 they met a group of French musicians living in London who shared the same taste in music, and began to congregate weekly for an informal jam session, playing arrangements from their favourite records. Eventually, the group started to perform regularly on the London jazz scene (at the 606 Club, the 100 Club, and the Queen Elizabeth Hall etc.)

Adir Kochavi, is a known trumpet player as well as a composer and arranger born in Israel. He is actively playing and participating in different scenes of music and various projects in the Netherlands, Europe and South America. Adir's personal style is a combination of several music styles like Jazz, Latin and R&B, into which he integrates motifs from the music, he grew up with as a son of Israeli Jewish parents who originally came from Yemen.
