Kate Amrine

Kate Amrine is a trumpet player familiar with many different styles including classical, jazz, and musical theatre. She is a graduate of NYU Steinhardt with a BM in Trumpet Performance and during her time at NYU, she studied with Thomas Hoyt, Laurie and Jeremy Pelt. She is frequently involved in musical theater productions in the city including West Side Story, In the Heights, Company, City of Angels, Anything Goes, Sweeney Todd, and Into the Woods. Kate is also a music contractor in the NYC area and recently contracted a 26 member orchestra for Tisch New Theatre’s production of West Side Story at Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Kate recently started her own brass quintet, performing both classical and jazz, featuring some of her own compositions and arrangements – some of which were recently premiered on her senior recital

Adam O'Farrill

Born: 1994

Brooklyn native, Adam O'Farrill (b. 1994) has emerged as a “rising star as a player and composer” (PopMatters) and “a blazing young trumpet talent” (The New York Times). Coming from a rich musical lineage, Adam’s grandfather was the boundary-pushing Cuban composer and arranger, Chico O’Farrill; his father is the composer, pianist, and activist, Arturo O’Farrill; his mother, Alison Deane, is a classical pianist and educator; and his brother, Zack O’Farrill, is a drummer and composer, who also performs in Adam’s band, Stranger Days. Further shaped by growing up in the rich and diverse musical community of New York City, Adam has cemented himself as one of the most in-demand trumpet players in New York City, as well as internationally. He has collaborated and performed with the likes of Hiromi, Mary Halvorson, Anna Webber, Samora Pinderhughes, Kaoru Watanabe, Tyshawn Sorey, Mulatu Astatke, Rudresh Mahanthappa, Vijay Iyer, Stimmerman, Patricia Brennan, Son Lux, Micah Thomas, and Sunny Jain.

Bud Gordon

Born: October 1, 1960

Bud went to Eagle Rock High School, graduating in 1978. Some of his musical cohorts while there were guitarist Larry Koonse, bassist Scott Colley, drummer Daryl VanDruff, and trumpeter Roger Ingram. While in High School Bud earned the honor of playing at the Monterey Jazz Festival's All Star Big Band. Jazz Greats Thad Jones, George Duke, and Dave Friesen directed the band in sets of their music at the Sunday afternoon concert. After school, Bud toured for a year and a half with the great soul singer Ray Charles that included stops in France, Germany, Italy, Australia and Hawaii. When Bud returned to Los Angeles, he immediately became part of the vibrant salsa music scene

Vincent Raffard

Born: July 9, 1980

French Horn's music is not only meant to be heard, but experienced as well. Miami based via Paris band The French Horn creates the driving force behind their music with their uninhibited blending styles of and creativity. Their musical roots range from jazz, ska, polka... the band produces a surprisingly smooth mixture of progressive Gypsy/Parisian/Circus-vibe/Swing/ World Beat tunes.

Jared Hall

Born: May 1, 1985

Blending post-bop tradition with modern harmonic storytelling, trumpeter and composer Jared Hall creates music defined by lyricism, rhythmic clarity, and expressive depth.  A Spokane native, Hall first picked up the trumpet in fifth grade, captivated by the sounds of Lee Morgan and Miles Davis—a spark that continues to shape his voice today.  A past winner of the National Trumpet Competition – Jazz Division (2013), Hall has been described by Earshot Jazz as “a fiercely expressive soloist, equally grounded in tradition and innovation.”  He has performed and recorded with a wide range of jazz and commercial legends, including Maria Schneider, Paquito D’Rivera, Terence Blanchard, Arturo Sandoval, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Peter Erskine, George Benson, Johnny Mathis, Gloria Estefan, Wycliffe Gordon, Vincent Herring, Troy Roberts, and many others.  

Adesh Balraj

Born: September 11, 1995

Adesh Balraj- (Trumpet) is currently a member of the FSU Jazz Ensemble at Florida State University where he studies under Scotty Barnhart. Adesh won a Maestro Award for best jazz solo performance at the Orlando Heritage Festival in April 2012, and helped the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jazz Ensemble 1 (JE)1 take top honors at the festival. He was a key player in the JE1's top prize at the Jazz and Swing Preservation Society of South Florida’s Battle of the Bands in 2012. Henry Spencer

Henry Spencer is an award-winning London based trumpeter, bandleader (Henry Spencer and Juncture) and composer. Since moving to London in 2008, Henry enjoys frequently performing in ensembles and featuring as a soloist in jazz groups, big bands, pop bands, salsa bands, for recording sessions and often for shows in theatres in and around London. He has been fortunate enough to perform with many great ensembles and musicians, just a few of these include Julian Joseph, Jason Rebello, Stan Sulzmann, Bobby Wellins, Marvin Stamm and Henry Lowther. As well as frequently performing in a range of bands and ensembles Henry leads and composes original material for his band, Henry Spencer and Juncture (previously called the Juncture Quintet). Chris Clark

Chris Clark started C3 Compositions in 2014 with the goal of provide great music that can be attained at all levels of development. C3 Compositions (named C3 to represent Chris’ initials of CCC) provides educators and musicians alike with swingin’ charts that will sound great regardless of the level of the ensemble. Chris Clark was raised in Waco, Texas, where he received a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a trumpet emphasis from Baylor University. Chris also earned a Master of Jazz Studies from DePaul University in Chicago where he studied Jazz Composition with Thomas Matta. Chris has also been fortunate enough to study with Bob Lark, Wiff Rudd, Alex Parker, Tim Coffman, Bob Palmieri, and Brent Turney. Chris has had many opportunities to perform in both the Dallas and Chicago areas

Geoff Gallante

Geoff Gallante, 13-year-old cornet, trumpet & flugelhorn soloist extraordinaire One of the most celebrated young musicians in the world today, Geoff found his older brother's trumpet at age four and has since performed on prominent stages and alongside distinguished artists all across the country—as acclaimed soloist with concert band, brass band and pops orchestra, as featured jazz performer and national anthem performer and as church soloist. He has performed in 34 states nationwide—including five different ensembles of the U.S. Military!
