Rich Laughlin was born on October 21st, 1958 ( sharing a birthday with Dizzy Gillespie)in Minneapolis, Minnesota (USA). His musical odyssey began there, a culturally liberal city where diverse musical styles from classical through jazz,rock and funk coexisted peacefully creating hybrid forms and optimal integration of artists. Early influences in these processes included the iconic trumpeter/composer Don Ellis ( who, like Rich, attended Minneapolis West High School) and the soon to be pop star Prince ( a classmate with whom Rich’screative path briefly intersected). Rich began playing music at age 10, choosing the trumpet two years later as his main instrument

Gabriele Mitelli
Born:
Gabriele Mitelli is a trumpet and flugelhorn player, composer and performer. He started studying trumpet in 2009 under the guidance of Giuseppe Rusconi. In 2010 he enrolls at the “Luca Marenzio” academy of music in Brescia where he specializes in jazz trumpet. He participated in the 2011 Siena Jazz’s seminars held by Seamus Blake, Reuben Rogers, Eric Harland, Avishai Cohen, Miguel Zenon, Lionel Loueke, Massimo Biolcati, Ferenc Nemeth, Franco D’Andrea, Andrea Ayassot, Aldo Mella, Zeno De Rossi, Dave Douglas, Pietro Tonolo, John Taylor, Michael Blake, Kenny Werner, Ben Street, Ferenc Nemeth, Michael Blake, Stefano Battaglia, Omer Avital, Jeremy Pelt, Mauro Negri, Pietro Condorelli, Pietro Leveratto, Massimo Manzi. In 2011 he participated in the international jazz festival “Time in Jazz” in Sardegna, organized by Paolo Fresu, where he has presentated his own compositions with his septet “Screwdrive Inn”. In 2012 he attended masters with Markus Stockhausen with whom he studied in Cologne, Germany and in the same year he played with Markus Stockhausen project in the International festival “La fabbrica del jazz”, in Schio (Vicenza, Italy). In 2012, after a creative experience in Berlin, he wrote his first performance that it has been presented in Poznan (Poland), in October, with the painter Mark Maksimovich, the sculptor Leszek Trzybinski, Alberto Cavenati at preparated guitar and Davidu Poniekąd at synthesizers. He’s a co-founder of RES collective “Heuristic Sonor Research”, an improvisation collective. He has played in different countries like Italy, Belgium, France, Germany, Swiss, Poland

Charlie Bertini
Charlie began trumpet lessons at age nine in Cortland, NY (upstate) and was active in marching band, concert band, orchestra, chorus, and conducting classes. Eager to work professionally, he started his own dance band in the ninth grade. At age 19 he joined the Clyde Beatty-Cole Bros Circus and toured for six years as first trumpeter and later as the musical director. The circus relocated him to Florida where he began to play a variety of gigs: stage shows with nightclub performers like Al Martino, Mel Torme', and Patti Page, Broadway shows, Dixieland show clubs, and free-lance engagements at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and Church Street Station in Orlando

In his 25-plus years as a professional musician, Brad Clements and his trumpet have traveled the globe, from South America, to Europe, to Japan. Starting in 1999, he spent 14 years performing and recording with D.C.’s legendary “Godfather of Go-Go,” Chuck Brown until Brown’s death in 2012. In 2003 he toured Europe with the Thievery Corporation, an eclectic world music group that arose from D.C.’s Eighteenth Street Lounge. In 2011, he again toured South America with the group, and he has played on several of their recordings on the Eighteenth Street Lounge Music label. With the Thievery Corporation, Clements performed on Conan O’Brien’s The Late Show

Jakob Sørensen

The Copenhagen based trumpeter Jakob Sørensen released the renowned debut album Bagland in 2015 and the follow up NOMAD back in 2016 with his own quintet playing his own compositions which really sat course for his future sound and career. In 2019 the third album Cirkel was released. Jakob’s work as a composer has been performed from duos to Big Band’s. Jakob has been touring all over Europe and with his own group in Sweden, Germany and Denmark. His style of playing has been compared to the playing of the ECM artist Nils Petter Molvær.
