Danny Tobias

Equally at home with a cornet or trumpet, Danny Tobias brings beautiful shape and individuality to his performances. Playing professionally since the age of 15, he’s best known for traditional jazz and swing, either reproducing classic arrangements or artful improvisation. Danny’s skills and repertoire embrace a variety of styles. In addition to playing with the Midiri Brothers’ Sextet at jazz festivals across the USA, Danny has led bands and performed for the Pennsylvania Jazz Society, New Jersey Jazz Society and the Tri-State Jazz Society. Danny has worked with a number of prolific artists such as Warren Vaché, Scott Robinson, Vince Giordano, Wycliffe Gordon, Gordon Webster, Harry Allen, Jon-Erik Kellso, Marty Grosz, Brooks Tegler and Howard Alden

Edward Lewis

There are three relatively well known Ed Lewis trumpeters, but this Eddie Lewis is probably the least well known of them all. He never played with Count Basie. He isn't the Ed Lewis who performs with symphony orchestras. This Eddie Lewis is a humble son of a military family who grew up on army bases across the world. When his father retired from the army, his family settled in the city where he was born, El Paso, Texas. Even though his cultural roots are Pennsylvania Dutch, and he hasn't lived there since the 80's, he still refers to El Paso as his hometown. This is most true for his life as a jazz musician because that's where it all began for him

Peer Baierlein

Peer Baierlein started playing the accordion at the age of 7 and then switched to the trumpet when he was 9.After several years in the local brass band he started his professional studies at the early age of 16 at the Musikhochschule Köln in Germany. He first became a classical trumpet teacher before beginning his studies with Prof. Malte Burba as an orchestra musician at the Musikhochschule Köln and with Arno Lange at the 'Deutsche Oper' in Berlin. In 1996, he moved to Leuven in Belgium to study with his favourite jazz-trumpet player Bert Joris at the Lemmensinstituut. Upon completion of his studies, he moved for a year to New York City in 2000, to take lessons form John McNeil and to play his instrument abroad

David Adewumi

David Adewumi is a New Hampshire native who began his musical journey at the age of 9. At the New England Conservatory, David worked with amazing musicians including Dave Holland, Jason Moran, John McNeil, and the late Laurie Frink. In 2015, he was 1 of 24 musicians accepted to the Betty Carter Jazz ahead program, where he performed his compositions at the Kennedy Center under the guidance of Carmen Lundy, JD Allen, Eric Reeves, Eric Harland, Andre Hayward, and Jason Moran. Through his time at the 2015 Banff Summer Jazz Workshop David had the opportunity to work with Mark Turner, Vijay Iyer, Becca Stevens, and many other amazing jazz musicians in the program

Dennis Adu

Dennis Adu was born in 1987, May 8 in Saltpond (Ghana). When he was 2 years old his family moved to Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. He started playing the trumpet when he was 7, and when he turned 8 he was invited to Alexander Gebel Orchestra.

Dennis participated in such international festivals and competitions like “Millau en Jazz” (France), “Fel du Sher” (France), “Jazz A Vienne” (Viena), Alfa Jazz Fest (Ukraine) and many others.

In 2007 Adu won the “Do#Dж Junior” (The Best Trumpet Player), in 2009 on this competition he became the winner in nominations “The Best Musician in Ukraine” and “The Best Arrangement of Jazz Standard”.

Nicholas Dyson is one of Ottawa, Canada’s busiest trumpeters. He performs reguarly with The Beeched Wailers, Los Gringos, Rob Frayne’s Dream Band, The Yohawks, and Tilda. Nicholas has also played with the National Arts Centre Orchestra Pops, Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre Symphonique de Gatineau, Capital Brassworks, and musical theatre shows such as A Chorus Line, The Full Monty, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Drowsy Chaperone and The Producers. Nicholas has also worked with Dave Brubeck, Roy Hargrove Big Band, Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Natalie Cole, Jamie Cullum, Kim Massie, Paul Anka, The Temptations, The Coasters, The Platters, Solomon Douglas Swingtet, Patrick Watson and Broken Social Scene. Nicholas has contributed to albums by Solomon Douglas Swingtet, Tilda, That’s The Spirit, SoulJazz Orchestra ('Rising Sun' 2011 JUNO nomination and 'Solidarity' (2013 JUNO nomination), Slim Moore & the Mar-Kays, Mike Essoudry’s Mash Potato Mashers, The Yohawks, Orienteers, Phil Motion & the Easy Lo-Fi, plus a live concert recording for Radio Canada with Los Gringos. In addition to maintaining a busy private trumpet studio, Nicholas is the director of Capital Youth Jazz Orchestra

South African born trumpeter Darren English, is the two-time recipient of the Fine Music Radio (FMR) Award and the 2012 recipient of the SAMRO Overseas Award. He has performed with UK Reggae artist Finley Quaye, UK Pop star Craig David, South African writer/musician/director David Kramer, guitarist Jimmy Dludlu multi-instrumentalist Mark Fransman, saxophonists Jonathan & Ryan Kilgore (Stevie Wonder), trombonist Saunders Sermons (Maxwell, Jay-Z), drummer Duffy Jackson, organist/trumpeter Joe DeFrancesco and pianist Joe McBride. Glenn Makos

As both a leader and sideman, trumpeter Glenn Makos has appeared at many of New York’s premier jazz venues, including Birdland, The Blue Note, Zinc Bar, Shrine, Silvana, and The Knitting Factory. His new ensemble, BRū, explores an eclectic mix of samba, funk, hip-hop, and jazz grooves. He is joined by alto saxophonist Craig Yaremko, Victor Lin on Fender Rhodes, electric bassist Sebastian de Urquiza, and Daniel Silva on drums. Their upcoming album, Arrowsic (Stop Time Records), is set to be released December 2025. Previous releases include The Michel Legrand Project, Houston Street, Now and Again, and Lapses In Synapsis, all on Stop Time Records.

Vitaly Golovnev

Trumpeter Vitaly Golovnev was born on February 21. 1976 in Nalchik, Russia into a family of musicians. Throughout 90s, he extensively studied Classical and Jazz music in such an established schools of Russia as National College of Musical Arts and Russian Academy of Music named after Gnesins. During that time Mr. Golovnev has performed with well known musicians and veterans of Russian/Soviet Jazz Scene and has established his reputation as new coming talent. In November of 2003 Mr. Golovnev moved to New York City. Since his arrival he has found himself in high demand working with many of New York’s most prominent Big Band’s including the Mingus Big Band, David Berger and "Sultans Of Swing" Orchestra, Arturo O'Farrill and his Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Brooklyn Big Band, and Hal McKusick Nonet as well as many Jazz combos
