Emily Denison

Emily Denison is a trumpet player in Toronto's jazz and creative music scenes. She is a recent graduate of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance with honours. She can be heard in Toronto and beyond with Ken Aldcroft’s Convergence Ensemble, the Nick Fraser New Quartet, Bellwether4, and in many spontaneous and freelance performances. She recently released a cassette of solo trumpet music, entitled "Kindred" on Hamilton's HAVN label. Emily can be heard on the both of the U of T 12tet's releases, "Rebirth" (2013) and "Trillium Falls" (2016).

Jeff Gottwig, a native of the pacific northwest, began his music career on trumpet at eight years of age. In addition to being a student director, his high school experience included concert band, marching band, orchestra, jazz band, and membership in the six time world champion Santa Clara Vanguard drum and bugle corps. He entered the U.S. Army in 1974, serving as a trumpet player/soloist with the 9th Infantry Division Band, Fort Lewis, Washington, the 298th Army Band, Berlin, Germany and the U.S. Army Band Europe, Heidelberg, Germany. After leaving the military in 1980 he moved to Minnesota where he studied at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, receiving his Associates degree in jazz history and performance, and the Bachelor of Science degree in music education, graduating with honors, and completed his Masters in Music Education at the University of St

Trumpeter Steve Enos serves as Director of Jazz Studies at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) in Cleveland, OH. Steve earned his Bachelor's Degree in Professional Music with a Jazz Performance Emphasis from the Berklee College of Music and his Master's in Music Education from the University of Akron. He also directs the award winning Tri-C JazzFest High School All-Stars and Tri-C JazzFest Summer with the Jazz Masters Program. Voodoo fuel is based in Highlands County, FL, by way of Louisville, KY and Albuquerque, NM and everywhere in between. The McDaniel Brothers, K.P. and Tony, started their music journey at a young age. Their father, Preston was a Big Band musician and played most notably with Billy Vaughn’s Orchestra and Jimmy Lunsford. The brothers began touring in their teens with various bands, putting down the miles and paying their dues. Eventually they moved back to their hometown of Louisville with the commitment to write, play and perform original music. The brothers and other talented musicians formed the bands Splatch and Fatt Labb which stayed true to the brothers’ visions for more than 20 years

He has performed internationally with such names as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Gerry Mulligan, Louis Bellson, Woody Herman, Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops, as well as a 30-year career as a NY studio Musician and playing in the pit orchestras of the Broadway Theaters. Our Big Band is a hand picked collection and collaboration of some of the finest musicians I know. These instrumentalists (both men and women) are from different ethnic backgrounds and countries residing here in New York City and each bringing their unique personality and musical experience with them. I like to mix up the age groups as well when considering who to offer a chair to in the band
