Josh Bennier

Born:
Josh Bennier (born Adelaide, 1995) is an improvising trombonist and composer. After completing a Diploma of Music at the Elder Conservatorium at the University of Adelaide in 2013, he moved to Melbourne to study at the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music at Monash University. Studying under Paul Williamson, Jordan Murray, James Macaulay and Robert Burke has been an invaluable experience for him. Josh was awarded the Marjorie Garner Orchestral Scholarship for Trombone in 2013 and has since been nominated for the Sir Zelman Cowen Vice- Chancellor's scholarship twice. Josh won the Monash Jazz Composition Prize in 2017 and was a semi-finalist in the 2017 National Jazz Awards at Wangaratta Jazz Festival

Bob Roden

Bob came from a family of musicians and became a full-time professional himself at age 20. He toured for over a decade, starting out in Holiday Inn lounges and working up to top showrooms such as Harrah’s in Reno/Tahoe and the Sahara in Las Vegas. Bob took a brief hiatus from professional music to have a career as a technology and entertainment lawyer, but is delighted to be back at it now. Black Tie Brass

Black Tie Brass is a horn driven jazz funk band. Most of the band has been playing together in one way or another since 2008 and formed BTB is 2013. We released our first self-titled album after a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014. We combine some of our favorite funk tunes with arranging pop songs in our own way along side our own originals. We want to keep you dancing and singing a song when you walk out. Our second album was released on January 19th, 2019. “Mostly Covered” has been a long time coming and you won’t be disappointed with our growth as musicians and as a band! Filippo Vignato

Born in Northern Italy in 1987 and raised in a musical family, he took his first trombone at the age of 10. Nowadays he performs intensively in Italy and Europe as a sight-forward sideman and as a leader of his own bands and he is considered as one of the most interesting Italian musicians of his generation.
He is active in different fields of jazz and improvised music, embracing contemporary music, Avantgarde jazz and world music. From 2014 he leads an electric trio with Attila Gyarfas on drums and Yannick Lestra on fender Rhodes. His latest project is a quartet alongside Giovanni Guidi on piano, Mattia Magatelli on bass and Attila Gyarfas on drums, which recorded ‘Harvesting Minds’, released in September 2017 by Cam Jazz.
