Harrison Argatoff

Harrison Argatoff is a Canadian tenor saxophonist and composer based in Toronto. A 2018 graduate of The University of Toronto’s jazz program, his music combines the study of jazz, classical, and free-improvised music to to cultivate a versatile, controlled, yet distinctly personal sound. Having grown up a Doukhobour, in the interior of British Columbia, teachings of pacifism, communal music making, and respect for life and nature deeply influence his personal and artistic endeavours.

Dennis Kwok

Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, producer, and educator, Dennis Kwok, exists at the intersection of bebop, contemporary classical, free improvisation, and pop music. Originally from Calgary, his interest in jazz and improvised music led him to pursue studies at Humber College, where he completed his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Saxophone. A versatile woodwind doubler, Dennis has been featured as part of the 2020 TD Toronto Jazz Festival Discovery Series, occupied musician-in-residence at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in 2021, and backed JUNO-award winning artists, such as The Tenors, Jackie Richardson, and Allison Au. Dennis has also been active in musical theatre orchestras, including productions of Follies (Royal Conservatory of Music), Chicago (Stratford Festival), 1922 (Shaw Festival), Escape to Margaritaville (Theatre Calgary) and Mean Girls (Mirvish).

Harrison Squared

Harrison^2 (Harrison squared) is a Toronto-based modern jazz quartet that features two up-and-coming instrumentalists, Harrison Vetro (drums) and Harrison Argatoff (tenor saxophone), alongside two mainstays of the Canadian jazz scene, Mike Murley (tenor saxophone) and Steve Wallace (double bass). The group hatched from a chance encounter between Vetro and Wallace in early 2016, at the University of Toronto, while Vetro’s drum teacher (Nick Fraser) was on tour. Wallace was asked to sub in for a lesson, with the aim of offering his wealth of experience and some new perspective. As he and Vetro worked on time, tempo, and rhythmic feel, Wallace immediately recognized a natural musical connection

James Hill is an award-winning Toronto-based pianist and composer. He is a member of multiple bands, most notably BADBADNOTGOOD and Autobahn Trio. As a co-leader he has released three albums with his band Autobahn Trio, and is currently working on a studio album with BADBADNOTGOOD. Further, Hill is near completing a solo piano project under his pseudonym Projectwhatever, which he intends to release in 2020. David Cruz is an up and coming Toronto jazz guitarist whose thoughtful playing and musical sensibilities go well beyond his years. David has been performing locally and internationally since 2014 in world class venue’s such as; The Rex, Hugh’s Room, and,The Living Arts Centre. David is both a respected band leader and sideman. In 2014 David began his undergraduate degree at York University. Here he studied privately with Canadian jazz legend, Lorne Lofsky. In school David earned extensive playing experience in both small ensemble and big band settings. David is quite active in the Toronto music community
