British arranger, composer, and saxophonist Al Lloyd has become a regular name on the UK Jazz and Soul scene over the past 5 years. As a teenager, he cut his teeth playing saxophone in the ranks of legendary British bandleader Mike Westbrook, and also recorded with members of Motown’s legendary studio house band, the Funk Brothers.
By the time he was in his early 20’s, Lloyd started to gain attention as an arranger and composer and found himself being hired by legendary acts like the Drifters, and the Chairmen of the Board to write arrangements for live tours and recording dates.
As a composer and producer, he has achieved 4 chart entries on the Amazon R&B Best Sellers Chart (including 2 consecutive number 1’s for Dayton Grey) and a top 20 hit on the UK Soul Chart
