Toine Thys

Toine Thys is a central figure for saxophone and bass clarinet in Belgium. He is active as a leader of his own projects, TOINE THYS TRIO, ORLANDO, OVERSEAS, RACKHAM and SLOWFI. He can be heard as well in Europe Western and Central Africa, Asia, Canada. Toine Thys leads the Toine Thys Trio with Arno Krijger (NL) on Hammond organ and drummer Karl Jannuska (CAN). After 2 cds (« Révélation» in the French JAZZMAN, « découverte » and Jazznews, « Must » on TSF Jazz), they released a third album « THE OPTIMIST » (2019 on IGLOO Records) featuring international stars SAM YAHEL (Joshua Redman, Bill Frisell, Norah Jones, Steely Dan) on Hammond, HERVE SAMB (Youssoun Dour, Lisa Simone, David Murray, Salif Keita) on guitar and drummer KARL JANNUSKA, and was recorded in New York. He co-leads ORLANDO, a project with drummer Antoine Pierre and french musicien Florent Nisse (bass) and Maxime Sanchez (piano), as well as the new all star band and cross-over group OVERSEAS, together with egyptian oud player Ihab Radwan, Annemie Osborne (cello), Zé Luis Nascimento (percussions) and Harmen Fraanje (piano). Sylwester Ostrowski

Sylwester Ostrowski – jazz saxophonist, composer, music producer and The Jazz Brigade bandleader from Szczecin City, Poland. Sylwester builds cultural connections globally with jazz. Karlton E Hester

Born: 1949

Karlton E. Hester, Ph.D. (composer/flutist/saxophonist), began his career as a composer and recording artist in Los Angeles where he worked as a studio musician and music educator. He received his Ph.D. in composition from the City University of New York Graduate Center and is currently Director of "Jazz" Studies at the University of California in Santa Cruz. As performer on both flute and saxophone, he is music director of the Fillmore Jazz Preservation Big Band and Hesterian Musicism. Hester is currently music director of Hesterian Musicism, founding director of the Fillmore Jazz Preservation Big Band in San Francisco and served as the Herbert Gussman Director of Jazz Studies at Cornell University from 1991-2001

Nikos Koulouris

Born: April 7, 1970

Nikos Koulouris, mostly known for his passionate Saxophone performances, is a Saxophonist - Professor of Saxophone, Music Producer and Composer based in Athens, Greece. As an educator, he has been a distinguished professor of Saxophone at the “National Conservatory” of Greece since 2005 and at “Phillipos Nakas Conservatory” since 2018.

He has been teaching both Classical and Modern-Jazz Saxophone. As a music soloist he has performed in Theatrical Performances, as well as in clubs, live stages, auditoriums. He has performed in concerts with the “Big Band” and the “Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens”. He has also performed with the all-time Classic Pop singer of Olympians, PASXALIS Arvanitidis, and the famous American Pop, Soul singer-performer, Julie Mascino.  In October 2013 he founded "The Groove Attack Big Band". Together, they released two singles with FmRecords, “polles fores” and “since you want it” (afou to thes), both covers of Manolis Xiotis’ songs.

Matthew Alec

Born: October 9, 1983

Matthew Alec is a jazz and popular music saxophonist, founder and Executive Producer at Cleveland Time Records, and bandleader for the high-energy jazz fusion group Matthew Alec and The Soul Electric.

Nominated as “Cleveland’s Best Horn Player” by Cleveland Scene Magazine in 2009, Matthew has performed for over 20 years and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Kent State University. He has toured nationally and has opened for a number of A-list acts including Earth, Wind, and Fire, Incubus, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Keane, Average White Band, Lupe Fiasco, OAR, Ozomatli, Bret Michaels, Rusted Root, and others. He has performed with former Saturday Night Live Musical Director, CBS Orchestra member, and Blues Brothers bandsman Tom “Bones” Malone, internationally-acclaimed bassist Victor Wooten and his brother Roy “Futureman” Wooten, Saturday Night Live trombonist Steve Turre, Kenny G bassist Vail Johnson, Grammy-winning Ohio Players alumni Billy Beck, and Parliament-Funkadelic bassist Ben Powers, Jr. He has recorded with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Parliament-Funkadelic and Talking Heads member Bernie Worrell and aforementioned Tom "Bones"Malone.

Julian Nicholas

Born: January 13, 1965

Julian learned clarinet with Nicholas Bucknall at John Roan School, Greenwich from 1976 to 1983, when he went to York University and continued with Alan Hacker. He studied saxophone with Tony Coe, Don Rendell, Bobby Wellins. Julian didn't fit into the critics and promoters templates, necessarily, stylistically gravitating towards African rhythms with Western harmonies in his compositions, as well as the influence of folk music through artists such as John Surman, but he managed to pop up as a mainstream-to-modern freelancer with some of the legendary names of jazz from a very young age, as well as with reggae bands and on garage recordings
