Rob Mullins

Rob Mullins has built his musical reputation in the Hollywood world with a solid string of releases in the contemporary jazz field over the past 30 years. His rise to international acclaim as a composer and performer began with his "Soulscape" project, which earned him a Grammy Nomination for composition. Since that time, Rob has gone on to record 37 CD's of his music (42 albums total), three of which went Billboard Top Ten. His latest releases include "Wise Man and the Ballerina" in 2023, "This Way Up!" released in August 2021 and "The Nearness of You" released in Nov 2018. In May of 2021, Rob was was selected by Hubert Laws to perform a Tribute to Chick Corea which was sponsored by Live with Carnegie Hall. The video is on Youtube. Rob has been the keyboardist and pianist for Hubert Laws for many years and is featured on many of Hubert's albums.

Rick Simpson

Born: January 19, 1986

Rick is based in London playing a wide variety of music, and leads his own group playing original jazz music. Rick is a regular performer at Ronnie Scotts, the 606 Jazz Club, Pizza Express Dean Street, The Vortex, The Bull’s Head, and he has appeared at larger UK venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Purcell Room.

In 2008 Rick won a Yamaha Scholarship Prize for Outstanding Jazz Musicians. A recording of Rick’s band was put on the front cover of Jazzwise Magazine.

Since graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2008 he has performed with musicians such as Christian Scott, Eric Harland, Joe Sanders, Michael Janisch, Ernesto Simpson, Martin Speake, Earl Burness Travis, Stan Sulzmann, Jeff Williams as well as younger musicians in London

Rochester's own MAMBO KINGS, together since 1995, are enjoying great success as Upstate New York's foremost Latin jazz ensemble, and have rapidly earned a national reputation for their explosive blend of Afro Cuban rhythms and jazz improvisation.Since their orchestral debut in 1997 with the Rochester Philharmonic and Conductor Jeff Tyzik, Mambo Kings have appeared at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and in Pops concerts with orchestras in Baltimore, Vancouver, Detroit, Dallas, Naples (FL) and Portland (OR), among many others, performing original compositions and arrangements by pianist Richard DeLaney. As a quintet, Mambo Kings have appeared as featured soloists at the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Fest, the Music In The Mountains Festival in Durango, (CO), the Lewiston (NY) Jazz Fest and most recently, the 2017 Big Sky Arts Fest in Bozeman, MT

PEDRO MENENDEZ is a brilliant composer and multi- instrumentalist. Wellknown as a pioneering of the Avant Garde fusion sytle in Argentina, Menendez s music is a personal blend of Latin American folk rythms (Tango, Chacarera, Candombe, Bossa Nova), Jazz and Contemporary Classical elements. As a bold creator, Menendez definitely proposes a different South American concept. Melodies are unique, lyric and complex. Pieces are rich on harmonic modulations and elaborated counterpoints.
