Karen Bach

Danish pianist and composer Karen Bach established the trio in 2004 while studying at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, and since then they have been playing various scenes and festivals in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, and recorded three albums together. The first album Samtale (english: Conversation) was recorded during four cold September nights at Christians Church in Copenhagen, fall 2005. Second album Flash Forward and Back was released at Copenhagen Jazzhouse, fall 2007, and mastered by the famous norwegian ECM-veteran Jan Erik Kongshaug. These albums can be found at iTunes, Amazon, Napster etc. Now, the trio is ready with their third and newest album recording Secret Rooms, which has just been released in the summer of 2010. This music is a journey through various of styles, and can best be described as a nordic, melodic, bold and experimenting dialogue, set between piano, bass and drums.

Jon Wirtz

Arriving on the Denver scene just a few years ago, Jon Wirtz has since performed for millions of people both locally and nationally. Over the past 10 years he has performed mainly as a sideman, having worked with Grammy winning producers Malcolm Burn and John Macy, and shared the stage with artists including Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Robbie Krieger (The Doors), Melissa Etheridge, Joe Bonner, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Matt Morris, Charlie Sexton and even Justin Timberlake. In addition to performing with Matt Morris on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” Wirtz has also appeared on “CBS Early Morning Show,” “Ellen” (the Ellen DeGeneres Show), and “Lopez Tonight” (George Lopez)

Bill Rinehart

Bill Rinehart did undergraduate work at the Berklee College of Music and holds the M.Mus. degree in Jazz Studies from the Boston Conservatory/Berklee College of Music where he studied with Ray Santisi, Joanne Brackeen and Charlie Banacos. Bill has played extensively around the Boston area for the better part of the last two decades appearing everywhere from the legendary Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge MA to a long stand at the Hampshire House on Beacon Hill in Boston. Bill now spends his time running JazzPianoOnline.com, an on- demand, digital library of streaming video jazz piano lessons. Thibault Falk

Thibault Falk (Piano) (b.1972 in Le Puy en Velay bei Lyon,France). He began playing classical music on the piano (diploma at the "Conservatory Massenet" of St-Etienne). After 5 years studying Economy (Master of Business and Administration), and working in a Jazz Festival Organisation ("Jazz à Vienne"), he wants his Hobby to be his real profession. In 1997 he moves to Berlin to study Jazz at the Music Academy of Berlin ( Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler"). He began to play with his trio in Berlin (A-Trane, Quasimodo, B-flat). In 2002 he won with his Band Gondwana the Jazz & Blues Award with an international Quartet: Jury Award from Jean-Claude Bourelly, and Audience Award too (Festival Jazz Focus, Wabe). Later he earns money with music projects working on cruise ships, Solo or Trio(Aida Blue, Vita, Caribbean, Canary Islands, Island, Cap Nord, St- Petersburg.), or playing with a singer from Brazil(Tour in Kiew, Ukraine and Germany). At present he is involved in projects with the Band "Sahnefunk"(Tour in London, Liverpool, Paris, Brüssel, Antwerpen, Nord Deutschland, Dresden.), but still plays concerts with his new quartet with own compositions

Musically, the country is known for its brilliant classically trained prodigies. He's a graduate of the distinguished Manhattan School of Music and has played with a number of jazz stars including Frank Wess, Steve Wilson, and John Riley. Michika Fukumori

Born on Japan's main island, Michika grew up in the city of Mie and began playing the piano at the age of three. Within the next three years, she was composing and performing her own music. After studying classical composition at Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music, Michika studied with renowned Japanese pianist Colgen Suzuki and began working professionally at various jazz clubs in and around Tokyo.

In 2000, she moved to the United States and studied with Ron Carter and Geri Allen at City College of New York, while also taking private lessons under the tutelage of Steve Kuhn. She earned her Master’s Degree at CCNY in 2003.

Based in Denver since 1980, pianist and composer Eric Gunnison has led a distinguished career during which he has not only established himself as one of the mainstays of the Mile High City’s vibrant jazz scene as an instrumentalist, bandleader and educator, but has also attracted a global following performing, touring and recording with internationally renowned jazz artists, particularly jazz vocalists. Maja Alvanović

The Majamisty TriO’s music synthesizes classical and jazz elements, and judging by audience reaction it’s a refreshing addition to the jazz music scene. The cooperation of pianist Maja Alvanović, leader of the trio, with the fantastic musicianship of Ištvan Čik (drums and percussion), Ervin Malina, (double bass) and Aleksandra Drobac Čik (guest vocalist) gives wings to this idea and brings it to full fruition. Jim Fox

Jim Fox was born in Ukiah, California. Jim developed an interest in piano at age 10 and started studying piano shortly after that. Jim always had an interest in the Blues. While attending high school he played with several local bands. Jim also was interested in jazz along with rock and popular music. While in collage Jim played with jazz groups along with rock bands. After graduating from California State University Los Angeles with a BA degree in music/piano performance Jim played with several Los Angeles bands including the group WAR. After relocating back to Santa Rosa, Jim and his brother Jerry Fox played together in a popular San Francisco north bay rock band called Boys Night Out

Devin S. Norris

Born:

Devin S. Norris is a Composer/Pianist in the Los Angeles Area. Having completed his Bachelors degree studying jazz piano and composition at UC Irvine under the tutelage of Kei Akagi, Devin has been a part of numerous projects as both a composer and performer. Commercially, he composed string arrangements for Grammy winning artist Faith Evans’ album, Incomparable. He also composed a string arrangement for the immensely popular band, The Common Kings. In addition, Devin’s string arrangements can be found on throughout the entire E.P. of the upcoming band Asleep at the Gate. Devin currently serves as the musical director and keyboardist for hip hop artist Ollie Gabriel, touring through the United States with him in the summer and fall of 2015
