Musician

801

801 was an English experimental rock supergroup formed in 1976 by guitarist Phil Manzanera of Roxy Music and keyboardist Brian Eno, formerly of Roxy Music. The original lineup featured Manzanera and Eno alongside bassist Bill MacCormick, drummer Simon Phillips, guitarist Lloyd Watson, and keyboardist Francis Monkman. The group's name was inspired by the lyric "Eight nought one" from Eno's song "The True Wheel."

A professional musician from the age of 12, Simon Phillips' drumming sound and style is instantly recognizable.
