William Soovik

Born: April 16, 1989

I was born in 1989, in a city south of Gothenburg called Mölndal. My father has been a professional musician during my whole life, and he inspired me to play music when I was young. I've seen photos of myself, as a small child, hitting my mothers pots and pans with wooden spoons in the kitchen, but it wasn't until my father showed me a video tape of the legendary jazz-drummer Buddy Rich that I knew I wanted to play the drums. Despite my fascination with the drums, I was very ambivalent when I was about start taking music lessons and got to choose what instrument to play. I struggled, for quite some time, deciding between the saxophone and the drums. At last, I choose the drums, and I've had a sort of turbulent relationship with all kinds of percussion instruments ever since.

In the intersection between the lightly flowing and the great and heavy, we find the folk trio Hvalfugl - a band that have created a sound that is entirely their own, through beautiful melodies inspired by both the Danish and the Swedish folk music tradition. In this universe the sun can shine from a clear sky, and the rain can fall from a dark and grey November cloud. Hvalfugl’s original compositions are both beautiful and melancholic, and from the first note they create an intimate atmosphere in the space they inhabit with their music. Kristoffer Vejslev Dyssegaard

Born: October 21, 1993

Kristoffer Vejslev is a Danish guitar player and composer currently living in Amsterdam. He is studying jazz guitar at Conservatorium van Amsterdam and has been doing so since 2015. Vejslev’s music and playing is inspired by the modern jazz and experimental scene in his hometown Copenhagen. In 2017 he released his debut album; Vulture Forest with his Amsterdam-based group by the same name. The music which was all Vejslevs own compositions was well received at home and abroad. His latest project is the album Udkig (Lookout) by Red Gazelle Trio, a Copenhagen based group that goes back to the beginning of Vejslevs musical journey

Sune Pors Andersen

Born: July 20, 1987

Sune Pors (b. 1987 in Odense, Denmark) is a guitarist and composer, who has worked with numerous Danish and international bands and artists as a sideman, as well as performing his own music. Current projects include the eclectic guitar duo Thief On The Roof with estonian guitarist Kirsi Tilk, the world-music-meets-rock group Umpas, rock/fusion trio Randolph Cricket and the genre-bending jazz trio Myrtue/Pors/Rõivassepp. ​ In 2015, Sune Pors finished his master's degree in jazz/pop/rock guitar at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark. There he had lessons with Uffe Steen, Karsten Aaholm, Adam Levy, Miso Petrovic, Tolis Zavaliaris, Henrik Andersen, Gilad Hekselman and many others
