Mitch Livstone

Born: May, 1967

Praised by Boston critic Jon Garelick as an artist who “really shines” on the bandstand, Mitch Livstone plays with thoughtful lyricism and brilliant tone colors. A true orchestrator, he courts interactivity among his fellow artists, creating stirring melodies from subtle phrases, and transforming trio gigs into headlining events. For his technical mastery and his inventive improvising, Livstone continues earning recognition among critics, peers and audiences of all ages. 

A highly sought collaborator, the Boston-based guitarist and composer has worked with a roster of diverse artists, including Tim Ray, John Lockwood, Bruce Gertz, Ehud Ettun, Oscar Stagnaro, Mark Walker, Steve Langone, Bertram Lehman, Austin McMahon, Ivanna Cuesta Gonzalez, Ángela Varo and Gary Fieldman, and shared the bandstand with Yoron Israel, Phil Grenadier and Marco Pignataro, among other leaders. Leading his own trio, ML Jazz Collaborative, and supporting others, Livstone has performed across the city at The Beehive, The Lilypad, Mad Monkfish, Zuzu, Latina Kitchen & other popular live music outlets. 

Rebecca Perricone

Labek has been performing since the age of nine. After winning a full scholarship to Cornell University, where she received an MFA, she moved to NYC. There, she pursued a performance career, starring in a number of repertory plays, working on parts in TV and on Broadway. Throughout her career, she spent many hours developing her craft, preparing, and finally bringing all her experience and wisdom to recording her vocal artistry. Labek (AKA Rebecca Malka Perricone) moved to Boston where she presently is part of the faculty at Berklee College of Music.  Her life experiences have produced an artist whose powerful voice and passion for storytelling and music must be heard.

REZA KHAN

Since his 2009 debut Painted Diaries, Bangladesh-born, New York–based guitarist and composer Reza Khan has written conceptually, enlisting heavy hitters from world music and contemporary jazz to weave lush musical storylines. His new album, Shadow Dancers, incorporates material developed over years and reshaped in a more personal context.

As such, the title track marks his first return to an older piece in over a decade. Like his previous releases, the album is conceived as a unified, theme-driven work rather than a collection of standalone tracks. His catalog includes multiple Billboard-charting releases, with a Top 10 single in “Drop of Faith,” and a steady run of recordings that have developed his collaborative, player-specific approach. The album draws from both new compositions and long-held ideas. “I went back to earlier material, polished it, and gave it a new meaning,” he says.
