Marlouie Saique came to Canada in 2009 from the Philippines. He went through the public-school music program at Harry Ainlay High School where he played in the Symphonic Band and Jazz Band. Marlouie completed his Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Popular Music from MacEwan University this past year. During his time at MacEwan, Marlouie studied under Edmonton trumpet virtuoso Joel Gray. He also held the lead trumpet chair in the MacEwan Big Band I for five seasons and was the Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the MacEwan Trumpet Ensemble for three years. Marlouie continues to grow his musical career in Edmonton as a musician and clinician
