Luca Dell'Anna

Italian pianist and composer Luca Dell’Anna was born on October 10, 1975 in Ferrara, a historical city with strong ties to jazz. He grew up listening to his father’s extensive record collection including Count Basie, Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Harry Belafonte and blues recordings together with Italian folk music.
His father also had a classical collection and Dell’Anna quickly fell in love with the music of J.S. Bach. Another important influence was Dell’Anna’s grandfather, who played the accordion and stressed the importance of tradition and melody.

Groove Skool went on to release "Limited Edition” which yielded a top 10 most requested song, "Latin Jive". The band also sold out the legendary Blues Alley Jazz and Supper CLub in Washington, DC, and played large outdoor events such as the Lake Arbor Jazz Festival in Mitchellville, Maryland, and the 2nd Street Festival in Richmond, Virginia, both with crowds of over six thousand in attendance

In 1975, while a freshman in high school, Marino joined the Philadelphia Italian-American band called Idea '71. The band played popular Philadelphia and Tri-State area venues. While Marino was with Idea '71 (1975-1982), they recorded the album Supersano, at Virtue Recording Studios and a record (Medley Records) with the songs Sweet Hometown & We Were Happy (B side) at Alpha International Recording Studios.
