Harold Land Jr

Harold Land, Jr. has toured Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America with Jazz and Funk greats such as Marvin Gaye, Gerald Wilson, Freddie Hubbard, Kenny Burrell, Pharoah Saunders, Lee Morgan, Roy Ayers, Roland Kirk, Sweet Baby J'ai, Dwight Trible, and many others. The Crusaders' pianist Joe Sample introduced Harold to Wayne Henderson. The meeting led to Harold's first professional gig, and to his first two album appearances, including the cult favorite "People Get Ready". He credits bandleader Gerald Wilson with giving him his first traditional Jazz gig, which came shortly after his time with Henderson

Kristin Callahan

Kristin has been singing and performing since she was 8 years old. She began studying jazz and piano in 2009 and performs at festivals and venues such as the Mid Atlantic Jazz Festival, SOUTH, Montpelier Arts Center, Wine in the Woods, Woodmere Art Museum, Rockwood Music Hall, Twins Jazz, and Rams Head On Stage with the Chuck Redd Quintet. In 2015, Kristin recorded “Poor Butterfly” with bassist, Blake Meister for the Maryland Public Television show, “Artworks.” In November 2017, she sang for the NBC Executive’s Event with guitarist, Rich Barry and pianist, Pascal Le Boeuf and a month later was featured in the Melting Pot Big Band at the Havre De Grace Opera House

Juliana Lane

Born:

Juliana is a 25-year-old singer/songwriter from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Self-taught on the piano and ukulele, she wrote her first song at age eleven. At fourteen, it was clear songwriting was her passion, and by sixteen, she released her first album, Dance in the Rain. She has competed locally, nationally, and worldwide in various competitions for voice and songwriting and won several prizes and scholarships over the years. In 2015, she co-wrote her single "Diamonds" with Jimmy Needham. Juliana has a retro jazz vibe that will take you back to the likes of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald! Her acoustic version of "Blue" hit #1 on the FAB Chart in England, where she was runner-up for Artist of the Year, right behind Connie Talbot

FUAT TUAÇ

Fuat Tuaç is a Toronto based jazz vocalist of Turkish Origin. After completing his degree in “Jazz Studies” in Montréal, he released his first album, “Late Bloomer” in late 2017 which received critical acclaim and still receives a lot of airplay on jazz radios over the world. Fuat sings in 5 different languages and has a very eclectic repertoire. Fuat performs regularly in Toronto and İstanbul jazz scene. He is currently working on his second album, “The Immigrant”.

Darcy Cooke

Jazz Lover Darcy Cooke is a classically trained jazz vocalist who has been performing nearly all her life. As a regular in DC area jazz bars, piano lounges, music venues, and private events, she has enjoyed performing with many of DMV’s great musicians such as Chris Grasso, Wayne Wilentz, David Jernigan, Harry Appelman, Keith Butler, Jr, Wade Beach, and more. Additionally, she has shared the stage with many of the area’s top vocalists. She studied music, voice, and theater while attending the Shenandoah Conservatory and has trained with multiple vocal coaches and top jazz singers in the DMV area. With a love of jazz and a background in theater and stage performance, Darcy’s repertoire is expansive, ranging from jazz standards of the Great American Songbook to blues, to show tunes to cabaret and pop

Following her acclaimed debut Black Butterfly, Toronto native Gillian Margot builds on her unique and emotive interpretations of American Standards with Power Flower, a deeply soothing homage to her influences in the Jazz, Pop, and Funk of the 70s and 80s. Margot spent two and a half years building the work; selecting seasoned titans Geoffrey Keezer, Billy Kilson, Seamus Blake, Ingrid Jensen, and Munyungo Jackson, and working the arrangements and recordings to her complete satisfaction. Included in the liner notes is the phrase ‘All vocals recorded without use of any pitch correction technology,’ which sums up the care and attention she has paid to Power Flower
