Born and raised in China, Chenxi grew up influenced by a wide range of musical traditions. Her path shifted from literature to music during her early studies, eventually leading her to pursue jazz in New York City. Following her passion, she moved to NYC in 2021, where she worked closely with mentors including Sam Yahel and Sara Serpa, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music from The New School. During this time, she performed alongside musicians such as Steve Cardenas, Dave Glasser, Cyrus Chestnut, Armen Donelian, and Fred Hersch.

Maja Jakupovic, known artistically as Maja Jaku, is an internationally acclaimed jazz and soul vocalist, composer, bandleader, and distinguished university professor. With a voice described as cinematic, fearless, and deeply truthful, she is regarded as one of Europe’s most compelling contemporary jazz artists—an expressive storyteller whose artistry transcends cultural and musical boundaries.

Born on October 24 in Kosovo into a family rich in artistic tradition, Maja’s extraordinary talent revealed itself early. By the age of seven, she was already winning music festival awards, and at fourteen she formed her first band. At eighteen, during the Yugoslav wars, she made a courageous and life-defining decision to travel alone to Austria to pursue her calling in jazz.

Steve Berndt

Steve Berndt is a trombonist, vocalist, composer, arranger, producer, actor and teacher based in Ottawa, Canada.

Steve began performing musically as a vocal soloist in elementary school music competitions in the Ottawa region and chose the trombone as his main instrument in high school. Steve decided to pursue a career in music after being chosen by Chuck Mangione for inclusion in the 1976 Canadian Stage Band Festival All Star Band and attending The Stan Kenton Creative World Clinic that summer hosted at Toronto’s York University. Steve then enrolled in the music program at Toronto’s Humber College, graduating in 1982. In 1983, Steve settled in Ottawa after returning to join a swing cover band called The Blue Current Preserve.

Acclaimed Australian jazz vocalist and songwriter Gregg Arthur has built an international career spanning the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Widely regarded as Australia’s premier male jazz vocalist, Gregg is celebrated for his warm baritone, refined phrasing, and charismatic stage presence, bringing timeless standards to life alongside his beautifully crafted original songs.

Gregg’s career highlights include Las Vegas residencies with Vincent Falcone, Frank Sinatra’s musical director, and a long-term residency at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Jazz Grill in Bel Air, Los Angeles with Pat Senatore and Tom Ranier. He has appeared at major venues including the Sydney Opera House, State Theatre Sydney, City Recital Hall Sydney, Hamer Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, and Singapore’s Victoria Theatre. In 2018, he opened the Melbourne International Jazz Festival for Branford Marsalis, and in 2023–24 he toured 22 concerts across Australia with James Morrison and John Morrison’s Swing City Big Band.

Adriana Samargia

Adriana Samargia is an American jazz vocalist and arranger based in the Philadelphia region. Her work spans jazz standards, Brazilian repertoire, and contemporary fusion styles. She performs and records regularly with pianist and composer Robert Prester in the Prester & Samargia Quintet, along with drummer Gusten Rudolph, bassist Zachary Guise, and vocalist Mila Samargia. Their album Quenara (2024) features original compositions by Prester, influenced by jazz harmony, Afro-Brazilian rhythm, and chamber-style textures.

Samargia is also a founding member of The Parson Brown Singers, a vocal ensemble originally formed in Florida and later active in the Northeast. The group is known for its close-harmony arrangements that draw on classical vocal technique and jazz phrasing. She contributed vocals and arranging to First Snow, a holiday album associated with the ensemble.

Leoport’s development as a jazz artist has been deeply shaped by formal training and intensive residencies with world-class musicians. In 2024, she was selected for the prestigious Antonio Sánchez Jazz Residency at the Centro Nacional de las Artes in Mexico City, where she trained with Sánchez, Thana Alexa, Fabián Almazán, Ben Wendel, Nir Felder, and Linda May Han Oh. She has also studied at Barcelona’s Liceu Conservatori, participating in masterclasses with Aaron Parks, Joel Ross, and Joey Calderazzo, and at Festival Jazzuv, learning from Miguel Zenón, Danilo Pérez, and Henry Cole. Her academic background includes studies at the Escuela Superior de Música (CDMX) 2015 and the Centro Morelense de las Artes (CEMA) 2013 and Taller De Musics (BCN) 2025.
