Alvaro Rojas

Alvaro Rojas is a guitarist, composer and educator based in Vancouver B.C. As a guitarist he has been a regular performer with local pop, r’n’b, and free improv artists, as well as leading his own Alvaro Rojas Trio a​nd the dub reggae band B​ig Buck. A​s a composer, Alvaro has had his works performed by many of Canada’s finest new music groups, including the Turning Point Ensemble, Aventa Ensemble and the Microcosmos String Quartet. He has written music for choir, big band, orchestra and various chamber groups, and has scored 15 short films. His passion for many types of music is synthesized in the trio’s recent recording, Gala, which brings a broad range of influences together in the familiar guitar/bass/drums trio setting

Leif Jordansson

I am a composer, sound artist, writer, singer, guitar player, arranger and more. Also artistic director of The Great Learning Orchestra and guest teacher in the art of listening. I am also a musician and singer in different constellations such as: FCOC (electric guitar), BAD LIVER (vocals, guitar, banjo and piano), THE STRING THEORY (acoustic and electric guitar), MISOK (string instruments and electronics), REKON (acoustic and electric guitar). I give lectures in the art of listening and how to cope with sounds in daily life.

Dafna Naphtali

Dafna Naphtali is a singer/electronic-musician/sound-artist and improviser/composer of experimental, interactive electro-acoustic music. She writes custom computer programs for live sound processing of voice and other instruments, projects for multi-channel audio, musical robots, and audio-augmented reality soundwalks. Drawing on an eclectic musical background she also interprets Cage, Stockhausen and other composers, and collaborates with musicians/video artists internationally. Harrison Goldberg

Gualala, California resident Harrison Goldberg is a familiar face along the Mendonoma coast. With his trademark tools of musical expression, his three saxophones: tenor, alto and soprano, Harrison can be seen and heard in several local venues as well as on a variety of CD recordings. He changes these three instruments as easily as one might change hats, which brings something to mind: As the grandson of a Russian immigrant hat maker in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Harrison has “worn a few hats of his own making,” including that of an abstract artist in the Dadaist tradition, a wine label designer, a writer of music education workshops, and a mentor for young musicians. He has his share of awards for his visual art pieces which have found their way into some corporate and private collections worldwide. Harrison is an alumnus of the famed Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and he has been playing saxophone professionally since the age of 17.

Sunhyun Yoo

Sun is a New York based professional alto saxophonist, musician, composer, educator and band leader from Seoul, Korea. His soulful dark sound springs from his influence on such giants in jazz; John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Kenny Garrett, and more. Thought out the years Sun has explored and absorbed the traditional language of modern jazz, and developed a unique style of improvising and composing. Michael Hudson-Casanova

Born: May 20, 1994

Originally from Detroit, Michael Hudson-Casanova is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, improviser, and educator quickly becoming a staple in the Chicago jazz and creative music scene. His debut album as a leader, Echoes of Thought (2021), has been praised as “…an exceptional record by a killer band,” by All About Jazz. His music blends traditional and contemporary jazz concepts, and always leaves plenty of room for dynamic improvisation with carefully chosen bandmates.

Noa Fort

Israeli-born vocalist, pianist, composer, and music therapist Noa Fort is blurring the lines between written and composed, group and individual, inner and outer soundscape, giving and receiving; all on the path to healing, with music. After a short stint as a biologist, researching bird migration in the Israeli desert, Fort decided to go back to her first love, music, and pursued a degree in Music Performance (first for voice, then for piano) at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. She became involved in the music scene in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, leading a Jazz quintet as well as working as a side woman for several bands and projects
