Marek Konarski

A saxophonist characterized by a warm and deep sound, recognizable phrase and
extraordinary
musical sensitivity. Active on the European scene, both as a leader and a member of many
projects. His improvisations are energetic and full of lyricism. They are influenced by
Scandinavian music, Polish folk music and be-bop.
Since 2006 he has attended classes at the “Small Academy of Jazz” run by Boguław
Dziekański and “Jazz Club Pod Filarami” in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. This extraordinary
form of education spurred his passion for jazz music. Currently, Marek Konarski is the
youngest lucterer in the project.
In 2011, he moved to Denmark to study at the Syddansk Musik Konservatorium

Highlights of Rova founding member Jon Raskin's early career include his '70s participation in new music ensembles directed by John Adams (San Francisco Conservatory of Music) and Dr. Barney Childs (University of Redlands). Camila Ronza

Camila Ronza. Born on February 10, 1995, in São Paulo, Brazil. From an early age, she had contact with music because of her very musical family, who always inspired and encouraged her. As a child, she joined OSESP Children's Choir and performed as a solo singer, so she soon decided to be a singer and make music her profession. Camila completed her bachelor's degree in Popular Music Vocal Performance at Faculdade de Música Souza Lima, in the city of São Paulo, in 2016. In the following year, she was granted a scholarship from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation to continue her studies in France, at the Center des Musiques Didier Lockwood (CMDL), where she graduated from the professional course “Le Jazz et les Musiques Improvisées”, returning to Brazil in July 2019. Geir Hjorthol was born on September 12, 1952 in Sykkylven, Norway. He started to play the trumpet in a marching band at the age of 14, but it took a few years before he started to work seriously with music – along with his academic career as a teacher and researcher of nordic literature. As a trumpet player Geir combines the sound of the trumpet with alternative playing techniques and electronic sound processing. Gijs Levelt

Gijs Levelt is a trumpet player, composer and teacher. In his work he explores the boundaries of world music, improvised music, contemporary composed music and pop music. As a trumpet player, he is best known for his work with the Amsterdam Klezmer Band, with whom he has toured the world since 1997, released 15 albums and entered into various international collaborative projects. He was also founder and co-band leader of several crossover bands and ensembles, including STriCat, the Axyz Ensemble and Spinifex. As a sideman and guest musician he has played with a large number of artists in different genres, from the Willem Breuker Kollektief to Chef's Special, in clubs, theaters and festivals all over the world. Dan Zimmerman

Dan Zimmerman devoted himself to guitar at age seven when he heard Love Gun, the new album by Kiss. Dan’s list of guitar favorites soon expanded beyond the space makeup of Kiss’s Ace Frehley to include John Scofield, Eddie Van Halen and Wes Montgomery, to name a few. After playing in high school rock bands, he studied classical guitar at UC Santa Barbara and jazz at Berklee College of Music in Boston. At UCSB Dan played in Evil Farmer, a rock/jam band known for spontaneous, creative and sometimes disastrous improvisations. Evil Farmer shared the bill at festivals and clubs with many other bands including ALO, who Dan still sometimes guests with.
