Jamie Taylor

Born: November 9, 1977

Between 2007 and 2009 Jamie was Course Leader for Jazz at Leeds Conservatoire (then Leeds College of Music), where he remains a Principal Lecturer on the jazz faculty. He has worked with leading jazz musicians like Baptiste Herbin, Sheryl Bailey, John Stowell, Judy Carmichael, Roni Ben-Hur, John Goldsby, Wayne Escoffery, Alan Barnes, Jim Mullen, Sebastiaan DeKrom, Andrea DiBiase, Steve Watts, Matt Fishwick, Steve Fishwick, Richard Iles, Steve Brown, Pete Whittaker, Gary Potter, Tom Harrison, David Lyttle, Laura Jurd, and Tori Freestone. In the field of popular music he has contributed to projects involving Mercury Music Prize nominee Richard Hawley, CANDID recording artist Sarah Mitchell, and Leeds-based indie band "The Pigeon Detectives". Jamie's current project is "Trio JDM" - a contemporary organ trio led by drummer Dave Walsh. Jamie toured the UK in September 2017 with six-piece jazz/rock project "Perpetual Motion Machine". Jeff Richman

Jeff Richman's extensive professional background includes performing on guitar, composing, arranging and recording music in many genres, and teaching in academic and private settings. He has produced 16 solo albums and toured worldwide with notable musicians over a 35-year career.

Jeff is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a student, he studied privately with Pat Metheny, Mick Goodrick and William Levitt and was influenced by talented classmates Mike Stern, Bill Frisell, Al DiMeola and Vinnie Colaiuta to name a few. After graduating, he lived and performed in New York City where he was further influenced by attending live performances of renowned legends Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Charlie Mingus, Ornette Coleman, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Charlie Haden, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Bill Evans, Dizzy Gillespie, Keith Jarret, Gil Evans, Chet Baker, McCoy Tyner, Joe Pass, Cannonball Adderley and Jim Hall. These early influences inspired Jeff and helped him to develop his own voice while striving to make his original compositions meaningful, purposeful, and with an honesty that comes from his heart. While in New York City Jeff performed with renowned Puerto Rican Conga player, Ray Barretto and composed four songs and performed guitar solos on Barretto's album "Can You Feel It" in 1978.

Greg Ruggiero

Born: April 11, 1977

Residing in New York City since 2004, Greg Ruggiero performs regularly in The Michael Kanan Trio and with his own trio. You can find him accompanying many of the top vocalists in New York City. Greg can be seen nearly every night performing as a sideman or leader around the city. He has performed at many of the top clubs including Carnegie Hall, Mezzrow, Birdland, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola Room, the Jazz Standard, Smalls, and the Jazz Gallery. His music has allowed him to perform in Japan, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Switzerland. As a leader, Ruggiero has released 3 albums as a leader, most recently a Standards Guitar Trio album for the Fresh Sound/ Swing Alley label

Roch Lockyer

Roch picked up his first guitar at the age of three, but it would be over thirty years later after a life in endurance athletics and various other austerities that he would study music. After returning from a trip to India in 2003 Roch sought out the guidance of master guitarist Jimmy Bruno and began his musical journey in earnest. After several months of study Roch began sitting in and playing locally wherever his gypsy existence found him to roam. Though essentially self-taught Roch wishes to thank all the musicians that he has had the privilege of playing with and learning from.

“Only recently have I begun to honor my own path and the direction of my fledgling musical journey. Having begun the pursuit of music at what in this age of ‘prodigies’ is considered a relatively late stage, I have begun to realize my strength comes from the belief that I am not actually pursuing any sort of final destination other than the rewards inherent in practicing, and participating on any given day. Given some aptitude anyone can learn to speak a foreign language as an adult, but once that person is fluent, the structure of language is only as useful as what the speaker has to say according to their own life experience. I enjoy a conversation with someone who quotes themselves more than others. I am finding solace in recognizing my own unique voice that is already manifest in all that I do...with this music being an expression of that. My musical language does not come from copying, transcribing, or parroting those that I admire. I find joy in the process of learning a Bach prelude, or arranging a bit of DeBussey for the guitar, or listening to the jazz greats, but I know better than to try and compare myself to, or try to be like these masters. In the attempts to become something, a student of music can often forget that the people they want to emulate were just people living their lives and fighting the good fight...trying to find a sense of purpose and meaning like anyone who lives. It just so happens that over time (and sometimes great lengths of time relative to the artists lives) listeners and observers noticed that these artists made themselves available as conduits for the highest possible within the realm of human expression. I think we all have the capacity to do this in our own small way but the potential does not lie in how cool or sophisticated our improvisations are, or what school we went to, or who we know, or ultimately even how well we do or do not play. Our personal potential, and thus our musical potential lies in how willing we are to discover who we are and what our voice is...we don’t do this through trying to understand others and their relationships...we do this by striving to understand ourselves and our relationship to others, and for me this applies to the process of learning music as well. I think it is best to explore and serve the environment that we arise from while also peripherally maintaining an awareness of the infinite possibilities that are always available within this family of humanity. Today I hope for the continued opportunity to strive through the instrument of music. If I can even scratch the surface and eventually share something that I can at least be temporarily satisfied with, that will be enough.”

Glenn " Big Lou" Tocci

Born: August 4, 1955

Glenn ("Big Lou") Tocci has been playing guitar for over 35 yrs. growing up in Miami /Ft Laud FL he studied music at Miami Dade Jr. College and The University of Miami. In addition, he took private lessons under highly esteemed teachers such as Dr. Vincent Bredice, Jazz Guitar genius Joe Dioro, Mike Gillis & others.. He spent over 12 yrs performing on the road & locally as a duo, trio, quartet/quintet & up, playing the hotel/supper club & nightclub/ lounge circuit (everything from "dumps to palaces") , as well as writing & recording radio jingles for various south Florida ad agencies in the late 70' & mid 80's creating spots for everything from car dealers to beer commercials

Petr Zelenka

Born: July 27, 1977

He has lived in Prague from 1998 and plays with artists including Najponk, Yvonne Sanchez, Miriam Bayle, Petr Dvorsky, David Dorzka, Vojtich Prochazka, Ondrej Otverarek. He performs at jazz festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad (Novosibirsk, Wroclaw), and has accompanied foreign artists including James Zollar, Piotr Baron, Milosz Rutkowski and Macziej Sikala.

In 1999 he receives the First Prize for the best group on the contest Jazz Junior in Usti nad Labem. In 2000 he released Mafiosi (Cube-Metier). In 2003 he moved to Paris where he accompanies artists including Xavier Richardeau and Fabien Mary, playss in the Coda tentet
