Michael Raitzyk has been one of the top jazz guitarists in the Baltimore-Washington area. Acclaimed for his solid rhythm chops and improvisatory imagination, Raitzyk has played with everyone from Pepper Adams and Mel Torme to Clifford Jordan and Bill Hardman. Raitzyk's versatility has allowed him to play in a variety of settings—from solo recitals to bop combos to big-band dates. Raitzyk learned his big-band education by working in such outfits as the Gene Walker Big Band, Blue Unity, Ed Goldstein's Baltimore Jazz Orchestra, and Hank Levy's Towson State Jazz Ensemble. He honed his small-combo skills in such bands as the Sir Thomas Hurley Trio, Society Red, the Coffee Club and the Mack Rucks Ensemble. Although he is best known for his jazz work, Raitzyk has been welcome in many different musical environments

Born in Rio de Janeiro in the early seventies, while Brazil was still living in a dark period of it's military dictatorship, Guilherme had an early fascination for music and improvisation. He still remembers going after his neighbor's music teacher and asking him to go talk to his mom, so he could start music lessons. He was a driven 7 year old back then. By the age of fifteen he was performing in jazz clubs and teaching privately in the city of Belo Horizonte, soon becoming one of the most respected musicians in that city. As a teenager in Belo Horizonte Guilherme cut his teeth on the complex harmonies and rhythms of the music from Minas Gerais, playing with Toninho Horta and Tavinho Moura

The group consists of guitarist / composer Nicolas Delfino, drummer Olle Dernevik, bass player David Andersson and barytone sax player Andreas Andersson. Aram Bajakian

The music of guitarist, composer and educator Aram Bajakian has been called “a masterpiece” (fRoots, July 2017), “shape-shifting” (FreeJazzCollective, January 2017), and “astonishing” (Georgia Straight, March 2017). As an instrumentalist, Bajakian had the privilege of performing alongside Velvet Underground frontman Lou Reed during his last two tours in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, Bajakian toured in Diana Krall’s band, performing over 100 concerts with the multiple-Grammy-award-winning singer, along with violinist Stuart Duncan (Yo-Yo Ma’s Goat Rodeo, Robert Plant) and drummers Karriem Riggins (Kanye West, Common, J-Dilla) and Jay Bellerose (Elton John, Rhiannon Giddens)

Mathew Birmingham

Born:

Mathew Birmingham grew up in New Jersey and began taking classical guitar lessons at the age of twelve. By fifteen he was giving classical concerts in a solo and duo setting throughout New Jersey. At the age of sixteen he attended a Dave Brubeck concert that opened up the world of jazz to him, and he has pursued that genre ever since. In June of 2011 he received his B.A in Jazz Studies from the University of Vermont where he played in the University Big Band, the UVM jazz quintet, as well as his own band, The Mat Birmingham Quartet. While at UVM he had the honor of performing with jazz legends Gary Smulyan and Robin Eubanks

joe nickerson is an award winning composer of chamber music with university honors and published and recorded compositions but above all he is a jazz musician. he played with among others, woody shaw, jon hendricks, julian priester and mike nock in his formative years but now says "I'm no longer a classic cover tune or mainstream jazz artist, rather a musician who believes in world music as trane did.. seeking to blend many genres into a fresh style of jazz." along with 2 nu jazz CDs displaying his individual style of guitar mastery, joe's currently working hard on mastering the saxophone and hopes to display that as well one day.

Jackson Evans

Jackson was born in northern Utah and began playing guitar at the age of twelve. At fifteen, he attended a concert given by his first teacher, Corey Christiansen. The experience left such an impression he decided to dedicate himself to a career as a jazz guitarist. Jackson went on to study with legendary educator and author Mike Christiansen before moving to the southeast where he established the regionally known band, Silver Lining with his wife Maggie, a bassist and singer. Now based in Savannah, Georgia, Jackson is known well known as an in-demand band leader, composer, arranger and accompanist
