Mr. Gregory Page

CHILDHOOD Growing up in London Gregory Page was surrounded by family members who performed and recorded swinging Jazz music. His Mother's group "The Beatchicks" opened two concerts for The Beatles in Spain, August 1965. Before one of the concerts"which were held at night inside a bullring"both bands sat together under the hot sun watching the Bullfights. Young Gregory was sitting upon Paul's knee, when the Matador, on horseback, lanced the bull for the final kill. Paul covered the eyes of the youngster protecting him from the bloody scene.

COMING TO AMERICA Under the cover of darkness, he escaped to America in September 1976. Upon his arrival to California he began a series of odd jobs, namely as a cab driver and cook; he also began tirelessly writing and recording his own brand of music.

It's hardly an exaggeration to observe that the voice and music of Al Bowlly had a definite affect on Page's career. Sitting day after day with his living musical mentor Lou Curtiss "who owns a record shop"listening to the songs from the bad old days, Gregory's voice and songwriting was shaped into Black & White.
