Dave Haskell

Born:

The history of jazz is strewn with brilliant players who have inexplicably eluded widespread recognition, flying under the radar of labels, journalists, and fans. But guitarist David Haskell’s stealth status over the past two decades isn’t hard to explain. He’s spent most of that time on the move as a commercial pilot, fulfilling a dream that took root as a child, about the same time he became enamored with the guitar. Before Haskell took to the air as a profession, he was a widely respected improviser at the center of the San Francisco jazz scene, a versatile, blues-drenched player often heard as a sideman and bandleader at high profile venues like Keystone Korner. Now that he’s hung up his wings, Haskell is once again making waves on the Bay Area scene, working with a superlative band

Inbar Fridman

Having performed together throughout Europe with several groups led by French bassist Oliver Gatto alongside drummer Billy Cobham, Israeli guitarist Inbar Fridman and French pianist Camelia Ben Naceur finally decided to direct their deep musical connection into the Time Quartet Project in 2010. With bassist Laurent Chavoit and drummer Stefano Luchinni, the quartet traveled to the foot of the Pyrenees in the south of France to develop and record this set of seven lyrical originals, all while surrounded by the vast plains of the countryside. Beginning her studies as a 16 year-old at the Rimon School of Jazz in Israel, Inbar moved to the US for six years where she studied at William Paterson University and performed around New York with Myron Walden, Will Vinson, Donny McCaslin, Aaron Goldberg, and Harry Whitaker among many others

Musician

Allen Weber

Journeyman musician Allen Weber is another musician to emerge from Chicago’s music scene. At age 7 he learned to play piano. At age 11 he switched to trumpet. And at age 15 he finally moved to guitar, though he originally wanted to be a bass player after watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. As Weber put it “There were two guitars and only one bass, so I wanted to play bass.” He played his first gig in a combo at age 16 for a school event and never looked back. Moving to small “hole in the wall” clubs he continued honing his musical chops, moving up the musical food chain to bigger name clubs, and small venue concerts, then on to tours in the USA and Asia including venues such as Chicago’s venerable Arie Crown Theater, and numerous recording sessions. After moving to Hawaii in 1979 Weber formed a Country band playing at premier clubs in Honolulu and Waikiki, leaving in 1980 for LA Weber began doing some session work, and performed in several bands

Musician

Harry E. Fellows

Born:

Teenage jazz guitarist from Oxford, UK. Looking to form a modern jazz band in the area, with absolutely no luck. Currently working on first album "From Nowhere", which will span multiple Jazz-based genres. Hoping to read Music at the University of Nottingham. Song writing time is spent erratically at the moment to coincide with work. Highly idolises the incredible Pat Metheny, but feels and knows that he has not yet scratched the surface of his playing , and to be used in the same sentence as Metheny would be an insult to music.
