Felix Biller

Born:

Felix Biller is an award-nominated pianist, composer, music educator and music manager. Born in Rosenheim, Bavaria (Germany), he started his musical education at the age of four. Throughout the years he tackled many instruments, such as guitar and saxophone, but the piano always remained his instrument of choice and mastery. His classical training gave him an excellent technique; his eagerness to experiment and think outside the box makes him search for new inspirations and opportunities for artistic development.

Biller is both an involved learner and dedicated teacher. He graduated from musicology and music management, furthermore in keyboard instruments popular music with a focus on pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in the Austrian capital Vienna, where he lives and works. As a passionate educator he enjoys working with people of different ages and backgrounds, which is made possible through his teaching activities, among others in private settings. He has previously taught music at a Vienna high school as well as piano at various music schools.

Living in Granada, Havana, London and Brussels gave her the opportunity to grow, learn and experiment in different genres. Now, settled in Belgium, Niebla has found her sound and direction as an artist, bringing to life her own compositions and arrangements with her new project: The Pepa Niebla Quintet. 2020 will see the release of Renaissance, Niebla’s first album of original compositions (following her releases Pepa Niebla Project and Pepa Niebla & Ricky Vivar), featuring guitarist Toni Mora, pianist Maxime Moyaerts, double bassist Alex Gilson and award-winning drummer Daniel Jonkers

Live People Ensemble is a Moscow-based band that was founded in 2009 by Russian pianist and composer Natalya Skvortsova. They play original music that feels stylistically close to contemporary European jazz, while also incorporating influences from the band members’ personal and cultural backgrounds. The musicians use various elements of jazz and art music tradition, folk and world music, and contemporary rhythmic and harmonic-rhythmic structures to convey emotion and live energy in their music. Live People Ensemble performs both original music written by bandleader Natalya Skvortsova and the other band members, and original arrangements of popular jazz pieces

Emiliano Sampaio

The Guitarist, trombonist, conductor, arranger and composer, born in São Paulo (Brazil) in 1984, studied music firstly at the University of Campinas and develops his Doctoral Research nowadays with focus on the use of improvisation for large Jazz Symphonic Orchestra at the University of Music and Performing Art of Graz. Ways of interaction between people has become a central question of his work, developing ways of using music to contribute for more fulfilling life as musician.

Emiliano released eleven albums as bandleader with his trio, his nonet and his own big band and his music was played in important Brazilian and European jazz clubs and festivals

Meretrio

The Meretrio was brought together in São Paulo – Brasil, in 2004, as an initiative of Emiliano Sampaio (guitar and trombone), Gustavo Boni (acoustic and electric bass), and Luis André (drums and percussion), with the purpose of researching the diversity of popular music. In 2021, Meretrio releases its 7. album "Choros" playing only Brazilian music! Meretrio played in important Festivals in Europe, Australia and Brazil such as Bayerisches Jazz Weekend, Perth Jazz Fest, Fête de la Musique, Jazz´n More, Mikulassky Jazz Festival, SESC Sao Paulo, Jazz Na Fábrica, and in the famous concert halls Porgy & Bess in Vienna and Sendesaal in Bremen. In 2017 Meretrio released the album Óbvio featuring the saxophonist Heinrich Von Kalnein (Jazz Big Band Graz) in two tracks, which got four stars from the Downbeat Magazine and entered in the list “Best Albums of the Year”. In 2019, Meretrio recorded a new project asking the question: would it be possible to mix trombone, guitar and electronics in a way that the music is also playable in live situations? This was Meretrio´s main motivation to compose several compositions exploring different colors than the traditional jazz trio Guitar, Bass and Drums
