Pedro Melo Alves

Born: December 27, 1991

Pedro Melo Alves is one of the most prominent drummers and composers in the recent avant-garde music scene in Portugal. Explorer of the expanded possibilities of percussion, improviser, ambitious composer for small and large formations, his work is known for the exploratory attitude and for boldy intersectioning different aesthetic circuits from jazz and erudite, to electronic, experimental and rock music.

Having been awarded with multiple awards and nominations (Bernardo Sassetti Composition Award, Premio Internazionale Giorgio Gaslini, El Intruso Best Revelation Group), he's been increasingly present in the international music scene, presenting his projects in events such as Jazzahead (Germany), 12 Points Festival (Dublin), Europe Jazz Conference (Portugal), Saalfelden Jazz Festival (Austria), Ljubljana Jazz Festival (Slovenia), Suoni Per Il Popolo (Canada), Südtirol Jazz Festival (Italy) or Jazz em Agosto (Portugal).

Born: August 3, 1966

Los Angeles based jazz drummer/composer, Peter Buck, announces the release of his third album as a leader. “Smells Like Music” combines soulful jazz melodies and folk infused grooves with risk-taking improvisations featuring the incredible musicianship of Buck-drums, Jamieson Trotter-piano, Jamelle Adisa-trumpet, and Lyman Medeiros-bass. A working band for five years, all of the music was composed specifically for the talent of these musicians. Sven Rozier

“Sven Rozier is a Drummer, Educator and composer. Born in Chun Chun City, South Korea, Sven discovered at a very early age that drumming was his passion. Later on he graduated from the Conservatory in Rotterdam, specialising in Jazz Music. Through out his career, Sven played all over the world with big artists at several big festivals.”

Quantum Trio

Polish-Chilean trio founded in 2012 in Rotterdam. The name is not accidental, clearly resonating in the group’s compositions. Component, inseparable and equivalent elements: Michał Jan Ciesielski (saxophones), Kamil Zawiślak (piano), Luis Mora Matus (drums). The Quantum Trio was born out of friendship, youthful dreams and musical explorations. Its members met at the conservatory of Codarts Rotterdam – University for the Arts – a university where music from different parts of the world and different cultures meet. This includes the diversity and openness, as well as great lecturers, that attract students from various parts of the world

Rodrigo Recabarren

Born: October 20, 1982

Originally from Santiago de Chile, Rodrigo Recabarren is a drummer/composer that has crafted a sound that integrates his Latin American roots with the tradition of Jazz improvisation and Indie Rock. Over the past decade, Recabarren has recorded and toured around the world with artists including Guillermo Klein, Claudia Acuña, Perico Sambeat, Brad Shepik, Melissa Aldana, Camila Meza and Jeff Miles among manty others and with his own groups, Beekman, MURAL and Novas Trio.

Michal Wierzgon

Born in 1994 (Czech Republic), Michał is aspiring young jazz live/session drummer and composer currently studying in Austria. He is a member of several notable bands (Purple is the Color, Harry Sokal, and others) and is actively performing on the Austrian and Czech music scene. Michał has garnered recognition at various international jazz competitions. In 2015, he won a prize for the ”Best Soloist” within European Jazz Competition in the Netherlands.  He has also won an “individual award” in the international competition at the Krokus Jazz Festival as well as many other awards and prizes

Xavier Lecouturier

Xavier is a 21 year old, American, drummer, composer, with French and Mexican heritage. He is a Graduate of the Cornish College of the Arts Music Department where he spent his last four years completing his degree. In his four years in Seattle, Xavier primarily focused on developing a compositional and playing style that was manifested in his quintet. He has a commitment to the study and roots of the jazz tradition but also finds all the ways in which the things he carries can influence his music. The music he composes is drawn from the music he grew up listening to, including classical music, latin jazz, Mexican pop-rock, or pop

Tomo Hasebe

Born: October 16, 1986

Composer, Drummer. He just recorded his debut album with Oz Noy, Ole Mathisen, Evan Marien, Isamu McGregor in NY, which was highly applauded by many of music icons. Sacramento’s Element Brass Band will make you MOVE! E.B.B. are one of the premier bands on the West Coast for New Orleans Second Line. The band recently released their second album, “Cali Got A Brass Band” in the start of 2018.
