Dan Loomis

Born: March 29, 1980

A stalwart of the Brooklyn creative music scene, Dan Loomis is a daring leader, a sought-after sideman, and a composer whose unique view of the world and music has led to the creation of innovative and moving works.

Loomis has produced over a dozen recordings as leader and co-leader of collective ensembles including Spoke and The Wee Trio. In 2020, he released the project “Job’s Trials: A Jazz Song Cycle”, an original musical/theatrical presentation which earned glowing praise from the press. A song from “Job’s Trials” went on to become the title track on the album“Abundance”, earning Loomis a Juno Award with Turboprop. The Wee Trio and Spoke also released critically-acclaimed albums in recent years, including Spoke’s (r)anthems in 2014, and The Wee Trio’s recording Wee+3 in 2017. Loomis is also consistently in demand as a recording artist and sideman, most notably with The Joel Frahm Trio and Vadim Neselovskyi trio, which recently recorded with John Zorn on his Book of Beriah release  Loomis has toured extensively around the world, all over NYC including many appearances at The Blue Note and Village Vanguard.

Mike Conrad

Born: May 15, 1988

Mike Conrad is a composer, improviser, and teacher from Iowa. He has been recognized for his arranging and composing with four ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Awards and seven DownBeat Awards, as well as awards and commissions from the Contemporary Music Academy in Beijing, the Bundesjazzorchester of Germany, the West Point Army Jazz Knights, and many other organizations. Conrad’s music has been performed all over the world, including a 2017 concert by the Metropole Orkest in the Netherlands, a 2014 Carnegie Hall Premiere, and a performance at the US Presidential Inauguration in 2013. As a performer, he has toured China, played at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy, and appeared at various jazz festivals and venues all over the United States

Milana Zilnik

Born: April 14, 1978

Milana is a multi-award winning pianist, composer and singer-songwriter, who has been a performing and recording artist since her childhood. A strong lyricist and composer in her own right, Milana’s style is reminiscent of Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Michael Nyman, Keith Jarret and Chick Corea. Milana enjoys playing by ear, improvising and using whatever inspires her to create her own style of playing. She is known as an adept improviser, catching melodies on the fly and expanding them into her own creations. Milana was born in Ukraine, lived in Israel for many years and moved to Canada in 2008

Timothy Lee Miller

Born: October 10, 1961

TIMOTHY LEE MILLER is an American composer, arranger, orchestrator, and publisher of contemporary concert music for chamber ensembles, orchestra, wind ensemble, and voice, as well as jazz music for big bands and small combos. He has also written for several small film and television projects. He has earned degrees from the University of Tennessee (BS Music Ed, 1984), the University of Miami (MM Media Writing and Production, 1990) and Vermont College of Fine Arts (MFA Composition, 2013). His principal composition teachers have been John Anthony Lennon, James Progris, Tamar Diesendruck, Jonathan Bailey Holland, Andy Jaffe, John Fitz Rogers, and Roger Zahab. He has received numerous commissions and awards, including several ASCAP awards. His works have been performed throughout the US, Europe, Russia, and China. His music is recorded on ERMMedia, Ansonica, Navona, and Phoenix Classics.

Guido Santoni

Guido Santoni's music exists in the space between melody and silence, composition and improvisation. A pianist and composer deeply connected to the contemporary European jazz tradition, he has developed a personal language where the piano trio becomes a place of balance, interaction and continuous discovery.

At the center of Santoni's work is the idea that sound is not only what is played, but also what surrounds the notes. His compositions reveal a strong melodic identity, a refined sense of dynamics and a constant search for the expressive possibilities of silence and resonance. The result is a music that combines lyrical depth with the freedom of improvisation.

Tom Weeks

Born: May 16, 1989

Tom Weeks is a composer, improviser, and saxophonist from Oakland, CA. He has received a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, and a Master's degree in Composition from Mills College, Oakland, CA. He has studied with Roscoe Mitchell, Fred Frith, Zeena Parkins, Pauline Oliveros, Steve Adams, Richard Evans, and Phil Wilson, among others. His music is influenced by various African-American musical traditions, the historical avant-garde, and the heavy metal and hardcore traditions; utilizing improvisation, extended techniques, and traditional and experimental notational practices

Robert Dunn

Born: December 14, 1953

I was born into the sort of family that made me want to stay by myself in my room practicing guitar & writing songs. Somehow I developed this mindset where I felt drawn to the surreal/abstract so I gravitated to music that that was that way (psychedelic, Hendrix, Doors, Beatles, etc.) I began studying jazz and as I progressed through bebop, hard bop, modal and into the 'avant garde' or free jazz I began to absorb these genres and developed my own musical approach. I did put together musical units mostly in LA, and where I currently reside - the San Francisco Bay Area that did attract some attention and this is what I am continuing to do to this day.

Bill Laurance

Bill Laurance is a London-based, GRAMMY® award-winning pianist, composer and arranger, whose rise to fame with the world-renowned outfit Snarky Puppy has paved the way for a flourishing solo career. Laurance released his debut solo album, Flint, in 2014, followed shortly thereafter by Swift — both albums soaring up the jazz charts and receiving praise for their deft musicianship and emotive writing and arrangement. 2016 saw the release of his third solo effort, Aftersun — a rhythmic and funk-infused album featuring percussionist Weedie Braimah, followed by Laurance's first live album, captured at London's Union Chapel. In 2019, Laurance released his fifth album, Cables, coinciding with the launch of his own record label, Flint Music

James Edward Hill

Born: December 15, 1990

James Hill is an award-winning Toronto-based pianist and composer. He is a member of multiple bands, most notably BADBADNOTGOOD and Autobahn Trio. As a co-leader he has released three albums with his band Autobahn Trio, and is currently working on a studio album with BADBADNOTGOOD. Further, Hill is near completing a solo piano project under his pseudonym Projectwhatever, which he intends to release in 2020. Hill is now touring internationally with BADBADNOTGOOD, while the release of his new self-led project titled LOCAL TALENT (December 13, 2019) quickly approaches.
