Giuseppe 'Pippi' Dimonte started studying and playing double bass and electric bass at the age of 13. Driven by a strong passion for Classical music, since the very beginning he got the chance to play double bass in various orchestras, including ONC (Orchestra Nazionale dei Conservatori) with whom he has accompanied artists such as Nanni Moretti and others. Growing up, he developed a particular interest in jazz music, so he moved to Bologna for further studies at Martini Conservatory. Here, alongside studying, he starts an intensive concert activity, playing with various groups and collaborating with many artists, ranging from Funk to Swing to experimental music

Italian born and resident in Bologna, Stefano plays differernt styles including jazz, world, classical, modern sacred music based on early sources, film music, interdisciplinary performances and solo concerts. Formerly a self taugh he later graduated at the Conservatory of Bologna. His saxophone tone is distinctive for its purity, warmth and dark full sound. His playing is volatile and lyric, rich of expression and details, while the character of the compositions is varied, being modern, abstract or either traditional, embedded with an archaic flavour. Stefano toured Europe and United States, played and studied with great musicians such as Steve Lacy, Markus Stockhausen, Tristan Honsinger and Joe Giardullo

Stefano Giust is an Italian improviser musician, drummer, composer and factotum of record label Setola di Maiale. His work is focused on the broad spectrum of improvised and experimental music. From over 30 years he works on these subjects into an acoustic, electric and electronic settings as well as in performative acts. As a drummer, his playing focuses on rhythmic pulse and its destructuration. Rhythm and sound as a continuous and variable flow, no longer thought in terms of meter and measure. Born in 1968, he has started to recording his music at the age of 14. Since then, his approach remained uncompromising, embracing a DIY attitude. Through the years, he has given concerts in Italy, England, Scotland, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, Belgium, Poland, Croatia, Brasil and Vietnam. He has recorded an impressive number of albums with his own main projects or as co-leader, mostly in the fields of improvised music, free jazz and electronic music. He has played with hundreds of musicians, including Evan Parker, Gino Robair, Gianni Gebbia, Thollem McDonas, Herb Robertson, Tobias Delius, Tristan Honsinger, Steve Beresford, Giovanni Maier, Peter Jacquemyn, Edoardo Marraffa, Jean-Luc Guionnet, Walter Prati, Luc Ex, Hélène Labarrière, Keiko Higuchi, Alessandro Bosetti, Clayton Thomas, Guido Mazzon, Patrizia Oliva, Burkhard Beins, Roy Paci, Lotte Anker, Marco Eneidi, Steve Buchanan and Catherine Jauniaux. Some places he has played in: Hanoi New Music Festival (Vietnam), Angelica Festival Internazionale di Musica (Bologna), BRDA Contemporary Music Festival (Slovenja), Mostra SESC de Artes (Brasil), Saturnalia 2017 (Milano), Interpenetration Festival (Graz), MIBnight Jazz Festival (Germany), Chilli Jazz Festival (Austria), Macao (Milano), Vortex/Mopomoso (London), Area Sismica (Forlì), Jazz Club Ferrara, 48th Venice Biennale (Venezia), ZDB (Lisboa), Resonance 104.4FM (London), Fondazione Mudima (Milano). As acousmatic/electronic composer, some of his works have been used or commissioned by experimental film directors and video-artists. Born in Bologna in 1984, Italian reed player Giulia Barba decided to pursue musical studies after she majored in Philosophy at the University of Bologna. Only then she began studying music, first in Italy, then in the Netherlands, attending the prestigious Conservatorium Van Amsterdam. In 2012 Giulia had the honor to be a member of the Arena Project, together with the most talented musicians from Europe such as Karlis Auzins, Miklos Borbely, Eva Bjerga Haugen, Inge Breistein, Petru Popa and Anton Hunter. The Arena Project performed at the prestigious MaiJAzz Festival in Stavanger (Norway) led by famous composer and bass player Per Zanussi

Enzo Torregrossa started jazz and classical studies at the same time. He took inspiration from John Coltrane, Charlie Mingus and mainly from Miles Davis who is still his artistic father and point of reference in his expressive and compositive work. He attended Master Bruno Tommaso’s “Siena Jazz” seminaries from 1980 to 1983. In 1982 he obtained the “Diploma di Laurea in contrabbasso” (“Degree in contrabass”) with Master Sebastiano Nicotra at the Academy of Music “Vincenzo Bellini” in Catania and attended the course of “Orchestra Composition and Art direction” in Bologna. Meanwhile he broadened his knowledge of his music studies by means of “Dik Groove” and “Barkley School”’s textbooks

Are You Sirius? is my debut album and features Harold Mabern on piano, John Webber on bass and Joe Farnsworth on drums.
My second album, Out Of This World, features italian pianist Nico Menci, John Webber on bass, Joe Farnsworth on drums and african percussionist Kalifa Kone.
